Re: TSU BANNED!

Well, i don't agree with SCG bans because that is not a post season contest but they azzez voted against JSU last year so they get what they deserve....and we kicking that azz on the 15th just for the fun of it.!

Re: TSU BANNED!

Whats the point of a post season ban in the SWAC?It makes no sense we separate ourselves from the NCAA in football any way if we had SWAC presidents with common sense a SCG ban would not be in place...

Yes the SWAC is assbackwards! :smh:

Re: TSU BANNED!

Ok...TSU is banned from playing in a boot licking game that attracts about 2500 fans...Hell I know people who went to the game and just walked up in the press box and was eating....and was like fugg it!!!! :emlaugh:

Re: TSU BANNED!

Oh well. Maybe they should've had someone in their compliance office who knew how to file proper waiver papers.

Re: TSU BANNED!

Sorry to hear about this especially for current players and my boy Asberry. Word is they will have more punishments because of the grade scandal and play for pay.

Re: TSU BANNED!

Wait... why can't they get the time to correct the issue and be classified as a "limited resource" or is that a separate application? I am confused.

On my third glass catch up!

 Actions have consequences, we'll be back next year if everything works out.

Despite the penalties, the committee was encouraged by some of the recent actions of the administration both inside and outside of the department of athletics. The committee noted that the president has expanded the compliance office, which is responsible for certifying and monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, from one to five individuals, including one individual who works entirely with the football team. The athletics department has also implemented a policy that all entering two-year college transfers must have three seasons of eligibility remaining and at least a 2.6 grade-point average. There are no exceptions or exemptions in the admissions process for student-athletes who do not meet the academic requirements of the University.

A confident McClelland added, “Our 2011-2012 scores which will be reported at this time next year will show that we are above the 930 mark and we will be totally out of penalties next year. We have calculated our numbers and are certain we will avoid these penalties in the future.”

Re: TSU BANNED!

:what: Am I missing something...is this some new news:quiet:...don't tell those other folks!

What do you mean is this some new news? You guys were hinting that your school wasn't going to receive any serious penalties. Well guess what, you were wrong.
You guys voted for JSU and SU to be banned, now it's your turn to suffer the consequences.

On top of that, your team is losing valuable hours of practice time, which includes no spring football game, no spring practice time, loss of four hours of practice time PER WEEK during practice.

"Penalties for the University include the elimination of spring football practice and the spring game, loss of four hours of countable athletically related activities per week during the football team’s playing and practice season, and the loss of four hours of countable athletically related activities per week outside of the team’s playing and practice season. All lost hours must be replaced by hours of academic related activities."

This is going to really hurt the team due to the fact that you all have new coaches and a new system being implemented. The coaches won't have much time at all to acclimate the players to this new system and it will certainly show, especially during the first few games of the season.

Are you serious?! You can't make it past the 811 APR mark in four long years, yet you're going to suddenly make it past the 930 APR mark in ONE year? Wonder where McClelland expects to get 119 APR points from in the next few months. LOL!!
Either McClellan is blowing smoke or there's going to be some serious academic fraud going on with the football team's APR numbers.

Dont low resource schools get a clear slate starting this year.

Re: TSU BANNED!

McClelland says anything that sounds good. He's been using the same types of soundbites and canned responses since he's been at tsu. He's been there long enough but tsu never seems to arrive; its always "next year" or "we're making progress". His projections and calculations never seem to pan out.

Re: TSU BANNED!

....As If Playing In the SWAC Championship Game is some glorious event but Proceed...:smh:. Actually, all SWAC Teams are currently banned from Post-Season Play because we banned ourselves.

Doing all that Kool-Aid Drinking In the 90s has made us Blind to the Truth of 2012.

Exactly....you couldnt be more right? CharlesMclleland is the worst AD in the SWAC. I've been telling yall this from the beginning. To say "we have a compliance team and we are looking after it" at this point is unacceptable. All he has to do is keep saying the same crap that he has been saying about the APR for the past 3 years and they eat it up. So sad....

But last year during the vote, I just knew that TSU wouldnt vote against an APR ban since their APR was much worse than JSU/SU. I figured Alcorn Valley JSU SU and Valley wouldnt vote for the ban. But these idiots, who knew they were the worst APR school in the country voted against their own interest. Dumbasses...

If Charles Mc doesnt get fired behind this, he will never get fired.
