MEAC vs. SWAC

Again.............. You ain't insulting nobody by saying leave this backwards azz conference.

The flip side to that is, since SU love bowling so much, MOVE UP AND PLAY TULANE IN THE NEW ORLEANS BOWL EVERY YEAR. Maybe you can play TROY in the MOBILE "WHO GAS" BOWL.

That is if you can be good enough to squeeze out 7 wins a year.

We aren't going anywhere because we love telling Jsu what they can and cannot do. So hell no, Jsu can't go to the playoffs because S.U. said so. :emlaugh: Hell no you're not going to the MEAC because you belong to S.U. and in part to Grambling and Bama State. If you go to your president and question him about this, he will get campus security and throw you off your own campus after they slap you around a little. :emlaugh:

Dude.
JSU has been part of the solution since 1980 so what are you talking about.

Solution to what problem? There was no SCG back in 1980. No automatic bids. The SWAC was one of the top conferences in all of football. So... what does your 1980 problem solving have to do with your 2012 problem?

Y'all cracking jokes but the insipiration of thought just hit me and maybe PV should investigate a fball game ON campus the w/e of Thxgiving. If they did so this fall, that would bring the count to 3, yes trois, games on campus fall 2012 lol. Not sure if it would be properly attended though. :(

All you doing is proving my point about how the fossils in the conference are to stuck on backwards to even think about moving into mordern times. You should get a job in the SWAC head office. You would fit right in.

And you also proved my point about JSU should be for JSU. Get all we can for ourselves and say FUGG the SWAC as a conference just like you proudly say SU and Gram do. Again, thank you for proving my point about how backwards black people think in this conference.

Sad part is, you honestly think what you typed up there is a good thing. :lmao:

Hell............ I wish we had the resources to leave this god-awful conference too. You ain't hurting nobody saying that.

As for SU, ya'll may as well be Naia because you ain't never been, never tried, and was always too scared to go. SU like bowling so much, MOVE UP AND PROVE how big of a draw you would be in a FBS bowl game. That is IF you can win 7 measley games. Win 7 and ya'll can take your 500,000 fans to the New Orleans Bowl against Tulane on December 21st.

This is not totally true. The Bayou Classic has not always been the Saturday after Thanksgiving which is how Grambling has gone to the playoffs. The years SU was eligible to go to the playoffs, they never qualified.

I'm telling you 88.............Damm the SWAC.
Lets make money for ourselves on Thanksgiving weekend also. Come up with our own plans without and consideration of any other school in the SWAC. It has been 32 years since JSU gave up our Thanksgiving day Festival for this lame azz conference. Time to rejoin the past like the rest of these outdated clowns.

Why are you taking JRock seriously.

As you know, I am not for JSU going to the playoffs but I am also not for a 9 game schedule but ultimately, regardless of what either of us feel, it is up to JSU to make the decision for what we think is best. Nothing is stopping us from applying to the Southland, OVC or even the Southern Conference. We have options, we just need to decide what path we want to take.

So in other words, they been telling lies all this time.
JSU/Alcorn moved our Thanksgiving Day game back a week earlier in 1980 because of the playoffs and the BC was moved down a week later after 1989. It had to be after 1989 because that is the last time GRAM went.

People like JROCK and NIM' been in here acting like the BC on Thanksgiving weekend has been tradition since the underground railroad was in effect and can't be moved because of some lie about TRADITION.

DAMMM.............. :lmao:
I was always wondering how GRAM went to the playoffs 3 times.

It has been 32 years

ummmm 83,
Has Jsu been fighting this for 32 years? And you're mad at the SWAC? Shouldn't your anger and energy be directed toward Jsu???

but then again, has Jsu truly been fighting it or is it more like, you're just against it?? :scared::scared:

I'm not.
I know JROCK is stuck in his own little HBCU, Louisana, SU world. I gotta mess with someone about the way the SWAC isolated itself since the playoffs has become a non-issue.

Catch up MH.
JSU ain't been fighting this for 32 years. JSU/ALCORN took the leadership role when the playoffs was started by moving our Thanksgiving DAY game back to the week before Thanksgiving to accomidate the playoff selection committee. That is 3 full years before Bamma State became a member of the SWAC.

It has been 32 years since JSU/ALCORN played on Thanksgiving Day. Since the SWAC is not a playoff conference anymore, why should we continue to play before Thanksgiving anymore?

I've been saying that for the longest. Last time GSU played was in '89 against Stephen F. Austin.

And when P. View WAS GOOD ENOUGH to go a few years ago, what happened? I told people ON THIS BOARD before the decision even came out and writers was making P. Views case that FCS was not even going to consider P. View.

The defense rest...................

I disagree with you there. Being in the SWAC was not the reason, PV didn't go. Although I believe the SWAC can get a team in, just like you, I knew PV didn't stand a chance. They had a few things going against them. They only played 10 games and their OOC opponent was weak as water (Morehouse or NCA&T). On top of that, the entire SWAC was pretty bad in 2008. The SWAC was so bad that year that I am not sure they would have been invited even had they scheduled two good OOC teams. To be considered, you have to do everything right and some key items need to line up. PV did everything wrong and the next year, they scheduled 10 teams again.. :smh:

Is that a question for Jsu or the SWAC?????? Again, that goes back to what I posted earlier.

Nope.
That is a statement from someone that has given in to the "stuck in the past SWAC." We should move the JSU/Alcorn game back to its original date on Thanksgiving Day. No reason whatsoever to keep playing it the day before the FCS Playoff bids go out.

Just like others say in so many words................Damm the rest of the SWAC schools. Lets get ours.

It was Morehouse that year TP (2008). NCA&T the year prior. Morehouse was part of that 3-headed D-II monster (Albany St and Tuskegee) that was running roughshod over quite a few (7-3 2008) (7-3 2009) (8-3 2010 and lost in rd one of playoffs to wingate 63-41). @ that time, I think it's safe to say that Morehouse was pretty legit during that timespan.

A 9-1 campaign that included a loss to Gram, who was beaten by eventual SWAC champ JSU, who was beaten by PV. Go figure...
