MEAC vs. SWAC

LOL!!!!!!!! I thought JRock had posted something. He was yapping about that one post over and over and over.

The one that you actually play for on the field, (THE FCS NC), is not worth it according to these posters here but this frankenstien monster national championship that is given to a team without playing for it will have the no-playoff crowd jumping up and down and doing backflips over. :lmao:

Unknown...how are my comments and statements "dumb logic"

10 years ago...the Missouri Valley and the West Coast Conference were getting one team in the NCAA Men's Tournament just like the SWAC and MEAC...guess what happened in the last 10 years or so? programs in that conference got better, which meant the conferences got better and got multiple tournament bids consistently...which means they're not equal to the SWAC and MEAC anymore.

I don't know what "my-penis-is-larger" measurements y'all are using with the SWAC and MEAC...but I look at it in a simpler way.

How many times the SWAC and/or MEAC had multiple postseason entries in the Division I Men's/Women's Tournament?

How many times the SWAC and/or MEAC had multiple entries in the Division I Football Playoff?

When you answer me that, then go look at the other mid-major conferences postseason records (tourney/playoff bids) in the last 30 some-odd years...then you'll see my "dumb logic" at work

But yet, all us SWACers do is wave the "attendance title" flag or the marching band flag when it comes to football.

Like I said before...until the MEAC CONSISTENTLY (which means year in, year out) gets two or three teams in the NCAA Tournament or gets two or three teams in the FCS playoffs CONSISTENTLY.....they are still equal to the SWAC.

Common sense .... some are lacking it brother.

One thing for sure, I know one school that has never contributed to the SWAC's MULTIPLE football playoff appearances.

If the SWAC had the sense at the end of the 1980's to be "AS ONE--With ONE GOAL in mind CONFERENCE WIDE", no telling where we would be now. We had the advantage then in talent but sat on our HBCU azzes, complaining about people thinking YT's grass is greener, thinking that high 2nd tier talent would continue to flock to our schools over non-HBCUs.

BUT we will never know what could have been after the 1980's since we stood pat on past history. The last multiple SWAC football year was back in 1989 when JSU and GRAM went again. We place MULTIPLE teams in the playoffs on the regular back then and the posters school that scream the loudest against the playoffs NEVER put their but's on the line to go............... NOT ONCE. :smh:

After 1989, everybody started going for self and started barnstorming every chicken foot classic on the planet, playing after the playoffs started, and thought YESTERDAY would keep the SWAC at the top. All hanging onto yesterday did was drop us out of FCS memory.

As for Basketball, lets just be glad that the SWAC can't opt their own selves out of the NCAA's. Lets just be glad that D1 in Basketball means D1. Our AUTO-BID would have went the way of the Doe-Doe bird long ago if we could have went to some HBCU classic basketball party come march.

Hell............ I wish we had the resources to leave this god-awful conference too. You ain't hurting nobody saying that.

As for SU, ya'll may as well be Naia because you ain't never been, never tried, and was always too scared to go. SU like bowling so much, MOVE UP AND PROVE how big of a draw you would be in a FBS bowl game. That is IF you can win 7 measley games. Win 7 and ya'll can take your 500,000 fans to the New Orleans Bowl against Tulane on December 21st.

SU Athletics has the most post season victories in the conference.

Why when you watch a SWAC game on ESPNU you hear of football greats from the pasts but you never hear anything about whats going on NOW....:smh: folks need to stop hanging on to the PAST...

"The South will rise again and Jsu will win a playoff football game!!!" :emlaugh:

SU never even sat up to see what was going on. Too busy ducking and dodging.

You can make all the JSU, 0-13 jokes you want. I would rather go to the playoffs than sit back, never go, NOT ONCE, and make fools out of myself talking about others that actually try.

But KEEP TALKING.
This is the EXACT "YT Grass must be greener" mentality that got the SWAC where it is today.
ROCK Bottom.

See? I was gonna' say something stupid and indictful but I stopped. Y'all gotta' stop making sense because it makes me act a fool over the web. And, you're absolutely right. That's all announcers can speak on when they talk SWAC sports: the past. I need to narrow this down: SWAC football/mens basketball. Maybe the other sports are actually competitive OOC. I dunno'.

Im talking NCAA playoffs. We have 3 in baseball, 1 in basketball, and some in track also. Now how many JSU has.

SU Basketball win in the NCAAs over G. Tech came the same day as JSU and Lindsey Hunter gunned down UCONN in the NIT.

Side note to that year is this is when SWAC leaders showed just how stupid things were going to get and how stubborn they could be. JSU and SU were both good that year. If they had not been so stubborn and moved the SWAC tourney up one freaking day, the SWAC would have had 2 teams in the NCAA's that year. Instead, they played the finals on a SUNDAY at 6pm when the NCAA selections were going on and the NCAA only held one slot. That was the year Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars were making a big deal out of Lindsey Hunters scoring and they wanted to see what he could do against the big boys.

As for Track, remember JSU had the NCAA 100 meter champion a few years ago. Baseball, can't tell ya without a google.
