This has nothing to do with the 9-game mandate. The problem is.. our ADs spend half the year looking under rocks for "money games"..then when those deals fall thru, they have to play The College of the Ancient Hebrews.

It's so funny how you all see this as so different. What do you think Grambling is to TCU? What do you think JSU is to MS State? Same difference.

Exactly. Yall need to read some of the comments from their fans when their ADs schedule 1-AA schools. Some of yall are delusional. :lol:

Both of those schools are 1 step below GaTech and FSU. That is not that bad. VUL is 3 to 4 steps below us. There is a difference.

I dont totally agree with that because when I think of school below GaTech or FSU, I think Marshall or Memphis or UAB... two below would be Wofford, Citadel, Troy, Middle Tennessee, UL-Monroe... we are 3-4 below... We are about on the level of good D2 schools.

Why are we talking about 1-A for this game? This is Grambling homecoming and no 1-A school will travel to Grambling for a game.

Well TP, I will have to agree with you their...the few TCU people I talk to on a daily have only expressed excitement b/c "we just wanna see y'all,band"....I won't even post what they say the point spread will be....
 



Im still tryna figure out why some in the hbcu football world think that the fcs hbcu's are better than D2 football teams. We all know their is a long list of D2 schools that can kick the crap out of swac schools.

NW Missouri State
Abilene Christian
Central Missouri
TAMU Kingsville
Valdosta State
North Alabama
Grand Valley State
West Texas A&M
Wayne State
Minn. Duluth

But it would be beneath a SWAC school to travel to any of those places.

Some are in denial and are so uppity they can't see it. BTW if one can't grasp that there was a scheduling conflict around GSU Homecoming then something is wrong. I mean many schools are in deep in conference play around the time GSU has its Homecoming and have their schedules done years in advanced. Some just make you smh. Hopefully the new AD schedules early.

Ok let me speak my peace.
1. This is Football, not basketball. Their is no such thing as deep in your confrence.
2. TCU been lined up since last summer, we have had plenty of time to talk and schedule something better then a club team
3. the Ranking goes #1 BCS, #2 the rest of FBS #3 FCS #4 DII #5 DIII #6 NAIA #7 CLub Schools. when people say thats how BCS, FBS look at us, well they should they are a step or 2 above us. We should be saying what BCS AND FBS schools say about us when comparing ourselves to DII; DIII and NAIA we are SUPERIOR to Them, we dont have any buisness on the field with these teams. Clubs schools like VUL, shouldnt be in our sight or in a conversation.
4. At Some point we have to have some Standards on who we play, Someone need to sit these folks down in remind them that we are FCS, this has gotten out of hand. Now FCS schools are starting look at us like BCS looks at us.
5. I think our Alumni and Fans deserve and should expect more. We are paying coaches too much for us to plays a OOC schedule where we aint got a chance in Hell of winning and They aint got a chance of hell in winning.
6. In a year we could have gotten a Skeege, Morehouse, BCU, Hell a Delta State, West Alabama, or a WSSU, Sh*T even Abilene.
7. if we play VUL we should be playing them in a preseason scrimmage.

You a better man than me. I wasn't about to waste my time trying to explain it. But you shole is right!
 
We could have done better... We have SLC schools less than 73 miles from us that we refuse to play on a home and home basis. These are schools we recruit against for STUDENTS and student-athletes. We do not compete against VUL for either.
 
I don't care for us playing VUL either and I'll probably stay in the tailgate area the whole time (except for halftime) but the fact of the matter is that if Doug had scheduled the freaking New York Giants, some Gramblinite would have still had something to say. So it really doesn't matter.

Singing "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS....OF THE SWAAAAAC"!!!!! (while doing "the Dougie").
