There is a difference between being "heckled" and having a member of Congress to shout out and call the POTUS a "LIAR!". Furthermore, for someone who thinks votes don't matter, you sure do mention Dr. King a lot in your posts; he marched, was jailed, and died for voter rights for those who had been voter suppressed. He, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers died for this, Rosa Parks went to jail for this, and you think what they sacrificed for doesn't matter?:xeye::xeye:To each his/her own. And lastly, again, this thread is about the aggressive, blatant, downright inexcusable disrespect President Obama continues to receive. I hope no white woman or any person puts her finger in your face while talking to you.
Those people died for the right to vote because they thought it meant something. That produces real, meaningful change. That's not the case these days. The interest of the rich and corportations are more important than those of the voters. it's been like that for some time now. These men and women say one thing and do another or nothing at all. It's nothing for them to lie, cheat and steal or play with the emotions of the masses to get votes and the power which goes along with being in whatever office they are appointed to. They are supposed to be working for us, but they live in expensive houses, have big bank accounts, benefits, and ride around in expensive cars and their kids go to elite private schools. Yet, they call all the shots. It seems like the only voting power we have is for them to tell us how to live our lives, and there isn't much we can do about it. Not until the entire system changes. Not until we saw enough is enough and stop just shuffling the deck between the Dems and the GOP. Real change will only come when we take the power back. When we decide to stop voting for once or demand to vote for things and issues that affect us. Again, I don't care if the president is disrespected. I don't care if any other politician - black or white -- is disrespected. Why? They've done too much shady crap over the years for us to feel sorry for them. That's why I don't trust any of Dem or GOP member. If folks just woke up, studied their history and look at the trends, they would see all of this is just big game. A game where we are being played at every turn. Yet we keep going back for more.
