The Southwestern Athletic Conference is currently reviewing Saturday's post-game altercation between members of the Southern University and University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff football teams.

The SWAC Office is concerned and disappointed that the incident took place and the league is working with administrative leadership at each school to gather as much information and video footage possible before levying any actions from the conference office.

Each chancellor, Dr. James L. Llorens at Southern and Dr. Lawrence A. Davis, Jr. from UAPB, issued an official statement with apologies to alumni and fans and have pledged cooperation with the conference office from their respective institutions.

No definite timeline has been set for a decision from the SWAC Office.

Some of the police officers are going to get it as well. You spray the spray only when needed because you don't know who has asthma or what.

They only sprayed it at SU folks. They even sprayed the La state troopers. Wait until all the details come out. : smh: .

If the pettaway with the asthma is the one and same #17 seen hitting a player in the back of the helment with an audible thud who was attempting to break up the fiight how can you defend that.

The wafb footage was edited and only showed a very small portion of the fight. PB players were swinging helmets also.

In a frenzy like it was they didn't have time to review the health records of the people involved! If a player/coach had health issues, don't participate or be in the area! Hell I got health issues and was no where near the scene!

Just like the JSU people thought...they aint trying to do nothing.
It dont take this long to see them SU folks starting a fight AGAIN.
Duer Sharpe aint doing schit.

dont know if they sprayed or not, but campus security was spraying SU players and coaches. Saw it with my own eyes, and heard it's on tape.

In the WAFB footage I saw, UAPB's coach said he didn't see anything because he was sprayed with pepper spray. Were the campus security just spraying folks for the hell of it? :noidea:

I was the game and saw the entire field. Y'all are seeing small edited portions of the fight. Dont pass judgement and let the powers that be do what they have to do. From what I hear SU has a wide view of the entire incident.

Nah, I'm not passing judgement on Southern. I'm trying to figure out why UAPB campus police were spraying coaches from both schools and Louisiana state troopers.

An SU player started the fight, so SU should be penalized more. With you dude, it always seems to be the "other" school and not your own. That's why this nonsense will continue to happen. People like you continue to make excuses for the perpetrators.

Did you see what got it to that point. No you didn't so stfu. Like I said that was one very small portion of the fight. You are one of the main SU haters on this board.

I am sure that kid will suffer the most. After that, the rest will probably not get the same punishment. No different than other fights you have seen in sports. Usually the first punch guy takes the biggest penalty.

I understand all of that but pepper spraying people trying to break it up was not called for.

This is a case of us dropping the ball again. I have been in games as a player and a coach where a brawl or a post game romp has broken out. The "white police" dont use that pepper spray until it is an absolute must. the "black police" come out the gate spraying. Thats the situation here. The State Troopers should not have sprayed any pepper spray unless a full scale riot breaks out. The troopers are to assist coaches and school personnel in breaking up the fight. Not spraying pepper spray.

i am not sure of this. I WAS at the game, and it got pretty bad at one point, players were singing helmets and several players were on the ground surrounded by opposing players. If they had not have sprayed, some could eailey gotten really hurt. It was waaaaaaaay to many players fighting for them to have any hope of breaking it up physically. Either decision could be second guessed.
