The NFL Draft...my team needs this player

Good pick. I'm surprised they didn't trade down and take a chance on a lower OT. I like the pick though.

Detroit finally got a GM who knows football. If Nick Fairley can play half way decent, their DL will be unstoppable. This reminds me of the old 49ers with Bryant Young and Danna Stubblefield .

I'm not talking about a specific position here. What player do you want your team to take in the first round of NFL Draft Thursday?

I would love the Bears to draft Boise State WR Austin Pettis. If not, Wisconsin OG John Moffitt will suffice as well.

My Redskins need a RB, QB, some darn good interior linemen AND they need some safeties along with defensive lineman that can really make a difference. If you look at their win-loss record you will see that they are much improved with Shanahan and they had so many close losses that they really are good contenders for the title except for the two blowouts they had. I think the Clinton Portis situation was just a bad mishap, but I wish him well, and the McNabb situation was just a bad choice all around and the Haynesworth situation was just a bad choice also so they have to correct those three at least and I guarantee you that THAT RECORD will be at least in playoff standard.

The Skins are dumb for not taking a QB. One of the top rated QB's were still on the board in Blaine Gabbert. Now all the QBs are damn near gone. If they would have drafted Gabbert, that would have filled a huge void for the foreseeable future. Maybe they will try to tank this season and go after Luck next year.

Have you seen Fairley play? The combination of Suh and Fairley is downright scary.

Mark Ingram looks sad as hell.

There is no need to take a running back in the first round these days. Teams don't need a high-round running back to win this pass-happy NFL. According to research, 14 of the top 20 rushers were taken after the first-round.

Yes, I have seen him play. What is your point?

You said "if Nick Fairley can play halfway decent" .... If you've seen him play, then you know he's going to be more than halfway decent unless he gets hurt.

I don't like the dude because I think he's a dirty player, but I can't deny his ability.

Well the draft is always a crap shoot, you never really know. Far more dominant college players than Fairley have been busts.

Glad my Panthers picked up Cam Newton. Bout time they made a good pick in the draft.

I think the difference between Dorsey entering the NFL and Fairley entering the NFL, is that Dorsey didn't join a DL that had a great player on it like Suh to make his job much easier. These two guys will be able to play off each other.
