People need to realize that they might actually be contributing to the problem of failed relationships and stop blaming everything on their Ex. Move on with your life. Another thing is stop comparing what you had before and the relationship you currently have. That's will be a downfall and poison both parties involved. Enjoy your lives. Maybe you will get married or remarried to your significant other some day.

If folk dated more the divorce rate would be lower. Two years is not enough to get to know someone........ Hell to be honest 20 years ain't long enough either.

THIS

A lifetime to learn about ya'self (and, 9 times outta 10, ya need more time)...and, Im supposed to do it in two years?...:retard:

I asked a good friend how was her marriage life was going. She said you know I didn't sign up to do all this work, cooking and cleaning. She went on to say that she messed up a great single life. Now I had to think about it for a moment, but you folks that have single for a long time you might mess up a good thing.

Dating for years doesn't mean you want get married. I know folks who dated for 10 years that got married when they were ready. Not because Aunt Lou and momma them said so. Look everyone is different. Some folks want to get their careers off, some want to have kids early, some want to get their money together. Some want to get their spiritual side closer. My view is not yours. Do you and let others do them. There is no book written that can tell you how to do you.

Preach!!

I wonder if most of the women that are replying in this thread are single. It's funny how a bunch of single folks try to give marriage advice with these artificial time frames on how long it should take to get married. Most of my women friends have mostly male friends because they say they don't trust their women friends as far as they can throw them. But at the same time, they put these time frames on how long it should take a man to be ready for marriage, LOL!!

I think the women replying...most of us have been married. The men...most have never been... Knowledge versus hypotheses...

Yall women love telling folks what experience you got. You don't know another person's story unless they tell you their story. Shyt let's be honest, once you dealt with one woman you dealt with them all. Shyt everybody don't wanna be married. Smart men and women don't have a rush rule on marriage. They do what is necessary for them and let the chips fall where they may fall. Hard up folks rush into marriage, then look stupid as hell when they get what they thought they wanted, and realize it ain't hitting on shyt. Keep it real. An the real key to marriage is adjusting to change. If you can't you will be divorced. Folks change, I don't care what any liar says, folks change. You have to be willing to accept that folks change. You will not be the same person at 30 that you are at 35, nor 40. Things you like now, you want then, things you don't like now, you might like then. Black folks can't accept change in life period. That is what messes us up. This ain't big momma them world. It has changed.

Is this post about marriage or about deciding how long to date before expecting marriage? Do you need to have marriage experience or relationship experience to post an educated response?
