I'll admit to an extent I am....but being the defending champs does help my case a good bit.. and we do basically have the same superbowl champ team back from last year... and a pretty good start to justify we may be heading back on the right track...
Again, Hartley make that damn 23 yarder and I bet Kendrick would still be trying to find a way to fit his BS into the equation...lol

I agree. But, then again...to Kendrick's credit, this ain't last year. The NFL don't work like that. So, in a way, he has a right to ignore the whole defending champ thing to a certain extent. A new season "in the NFL" is just that...a new season. Heck, just based off of N.O. not getting the early breaks like they did last year should show you that.

The NFL worked like that when Indy came back with the same squad... and when New England came back with the same squad....
The Saints beat the breaks off of teams early last year when their were at full strenght.. hell we started the season off with our number one intercept safety...
The offense have been making uncharateristic mistakes.. mainly turn overs... which is hindering them from beating the breaks off of teams...
If you noticed last year... once the Saints got ahead "early" by 2 td's it was lights out for the next team.. turn overs stopped us from this early this season...
It will come together though... right now "wins" are more important than beating the breaks off these teams that's giving the Saints their best shot each week...
Your problem is that you can't take it when someone has valid criticisms about your team. And before you say anything about my prognostications regarding the Bears, I said that with the new additions to the team, it was going to be either a really good year or a really bad year. The jury is still out on that with 13 weeks left.
Then you say I have some type of vendetta against the Saints. If that were the case, why would I rank them No. 1 in the preseason poll up until they lost their first game? Isn't that respecting the defending champions?
Which has meant very little the last few years, since there has not been a repeat champion since the Pats did it in 2003-2004. It hasn't been done in the NFC since Dallas back in 1992-1993. So I wouldn't be going out a limb saying that it won't be easy for the Saints to repeat.
And I'm not the only one who is saying something is off with the Saints offense. I have no problem with the defense. I've said they have played great.
Even the people who get paid to cover the team every singe day down in N.O. are trying to pinpoint what is off with Saints offense.
And even if Hartley makes the 23-yard FG, it doesn't change the fact the offense hasn't been clicking like it was last season.
Before the Panthers game Brees was asked about the struggles of the offense. So more than me has noticed something.
Man, I never knew Saints fans were so whiny.

Dude... when you turn the BALL over in the red zone numerous times that WILL effect how much you score.... Are you this slow?!?!?!
That's the MAIN reason why you not seeing a lot of points scored on top of having all backups in the backfield.... dayum you can't be this slow....

New York lost to Indy because they had an identity crisis and finally got back to doing what they are suppose to do. That's by playing physical and establishing a punishing run game. That game against Indy was terrible and the DC and OC came out with a horrible game plan. They didn't bring in an extra linebacker to fill in the gaps to stop the run until the game was out of reach. They played into Indy's strength and that was allowing Freeney and Mathis to pin their ears back and rush the passer. With that pressure, that allowed Indy's safties and lbs to make plays on every pass Eli threw or could get out of his hands. One more thing that really bothered me is the fact that Brandon Jacobs is 264 lbs beast but he wants to run the ball like Barry Sanders. They are playing against the worst run defense in the league.
Now the game against the Titans displayed how undiscipline they can be with what 5 personal foul penalties. They out gained the Titans but kept making mental errors. I don't want to come off on making any excuses for them. They lost that game. However, it appears that they have turned things around in that locker room.

Good observations the same could be said about the Titatns, but that's not something you can put into a power ranking until you show it on the field and so far they haven't beaten anybody of an significants convincingly in the power rankings.
Even their win against the Bears was more like the Bears wanted to lose it then the Giants wanted to win it.
One good game for them or some may say one bad game for the Texans doesn't give them any leverage.

Have you not noticed the last decade how parity has been the norm in the NFL?
The two teams that played in last season's Super Bowl, the Colts and New Orleans Saints, have a combined record of 8-4. Though six weeks both teams had a combined record of 12-0.
The San Diego Chargers, a team which hosted an AFC divisional playoff game last season, has lost to the Chiefs, Raiders, Rams and Seahawks. Those teams had a combined record of 15-49 in 2009.
Through Week 6, there are 20 teams at .500 or better, which is the most at this point of the season since 2001. There are seven teams either leading or tied for the lead in their divisions who did not win them last season.
Through the first four weeks, games were abnormally close -- 58 percent were decided by eight points or less, which was apparently the highest such small sample since 1999. The NFL is a week to week league. A team can be horrible one week, and great the next week or two. Or it could work the other way as well.
Should the Bears be out of the Top 10 after losing to a Seattle team which has not won a road game this season? Probably so. But tell me which other two-loss teams in 2010 are that much better than Chicago right now?
The Colts? Sure, they have won a couple in a row. But in Week 1 they were run over by a Houston Texans team that lost to the now 1-4 Cowboys. Oh, and they haven't won a game in the AFC South yet. The Saints? Although very impressive against the Bucs, turned the ball over three times and lost to an Arizona Cardinals teams with an undrafted rookie QB, and a defense that had given up 41 points in two of the last three games prior to the match up.
Speaking of 3-2 Arizona, they were killed by the Chargers 41-10. Again, San Diego lost to the Raiders and Rams.
So let’s all remember: In the NFL, none of us knows anything about anything, but we’ve all got about an equal chance of getting it wrong.
