I know "if it ain't broke, why fix it" but I've heard SU do more. I was disapppointed in their versions of 'Bittersweet' & 'Holding You down'. I've heard some crazy sick ballads from SU over the years...the rest was great though, in the way only SU could do it.

It's one thing to plain'o not like something. But, it's another to say that, but have alterior motives for saying it, and passing it off as just not liking something because you wanna SEEM unbias and all-fair giving.

For example.....You can't hate SU and their style...and, have it be shown that you have something against SU....then, turn around and say you're "unbias" when it comes to SU. You're not. You didn't like them from the git. So, how would you expect someone to believe that you don't dislike the "S" when everytime you mention SU... you come half-arse (and/or backhanded) with comments/compliments about the "S"?

All that you said, you still can't make someone like you and say good things 100%. Plain and Simple. True some may have motives but it's how they do things. Not one person on this site is the official spokesman for their Universities, nor Bands so why get all mad when someone says they don't like a song then result to juvenile measures bringing the university or band in it? That's what i have never understood. Seems to me that one can dish out constructive criticism or opinions but can't receive it. I actually liked the clip. All i'm saying is dude is a "FAN" so keep GSU out of the drama. Attack his azz personally if one is man enough to stand on his own.

Folks be so wrapped up in this "if you can't dish it" mode...they absent-mindedly pass up the most important parts of certain post. Then, when someone from SU tries to correct them...or, say that they're dead wrong....all of a sudden "SU can't take it"...:retard:

For example....

It's kind of like the whole JSt v SU "Power" thing that's been going on since the Jackson BOTB's. Folks representing JSt. swear up and down that JSt. is the reason SU plays "Power", stemming from the Boom playing at SU's back, while SU was at attention at the BOTB's. JSt. folks actually think that that episode did SO MUCH to the Juke's ego ( :rolleyes: )...that it made SU run out of the stadium to go write "Power" to play it the next week versus PineBluff...:lol:

So, if I know that to NOT be the case, and I say something....how is that "not being able to take it" if I, or any other Juke, go thru strides to express that SU's had it in their folders since week 1?...:retard:

The point is...say what you mean, and mean what you say....and, you won't have to worry about folks from SU, or anywhere else, jumping on your opinion. If you say you don't like something, either say "I just don't like it" or give your reasons why if/when asked. Or, just don't post if you don't wanna be asked about your response.

If it smells/sounds like there's a heap of bullisht attached to an "unbias" comment...then, expect someone to say something. Folks from other schools do the same all the time. But, because it's SU, or by the mouth of someone from SU, it somehow has extra value. You say "no it doesn't"...but, you can read it every day.
 
Didn't feel like reading of that. Like i said earlier, i actually liked the arrangement. Icey is the one that doesn't but it's not like dude said SU is trash or something. Sheesh.

Thanks, if the game would have stayed scheduled for saturday we would have made the road trip. Since it was moved to thursday I couldn't make it because my son has a game that night this week.

Jared made a fair statement when he said "obviously dont know/understand SU". If someone wants to execute a song exactly as performed, why have arrangers? You could contact a music publishing company and get an actual score for all that.. BUT, SU has perfected their arranging style, and it perfectly matches the ensemble it is written for: The Human Jukebox. Arranging styles and arrangements are custom tailored..... Wait, SHOULD BE custom tailored to the ensemble they are written for. Imagine if there was a "arrangement swap", where SU traded versions of Swoop with JSU, or Neck, or ANY SONG for that matter. JSU wouldn't do SU's version any justice, and the same for the opposing view.

And Jared..... I foresee Haymer at SU for MANY generations of Jukes to come. Everytime an arrangement exits his mind and comes out of The Jukebox, it's a treat for the ears. I predict GREATNESS.

This is why I slack off on going back and forth with most of the cats on here... It's been proved enough most of them don't have a clue...smh...

It's who they are.... And bottom line these bands talking about each song should sound the way it sounds on the radio.. don't know the meaning of a BAND and is the sole reason their band isn't has KNOWN as ADMIRED as JOCKED as LOVED as COPIED as SU or FAMU...

It's really that simple...

If you are looking for a band to play every song as you hear it on the radio go your DUMB arse to Las Vegas for that.. that were live bands IMITATE the originals... College Marching bands weren't created for that..

I really get tired of educating DUMMIES that want to stay DUMB....

My comment about the Battle was it was a nice battle between PB and SU...

UAPB should have stayed home they are so damn boring. It's like watching paint dry with them. I mean they thrive off sounding good but is not doing anything that calls for a challenge. Any band can play at messo forte and play all pretty but most don't want to. UAPB isn't doing nothing spectacular. SU should have left their @ss in the stadium by themselves because UAPB clearly was no competition.
