This isht was like the court hearing for a traffic violation..... UAPB pleaded "No Contest"! Haha! Jukes soundin' A-f'kin-MAZING. I aint heard a trumpet section like that at SU since 2004. Jackson State, I hope y'all been eating your Campbell's Chunky Soup.....:weee::weee::weee:

SN- This is to the "Boomer" that said the actual song "Power" has dead spots... Listen to the Jukebox's version. A TALENTED arranger can overcome that, as you can see! <BAOW!>:clap:

This was VERY one sided.... First time I think Ive ever seen PB lose EVERY round of a 5th... they just looked like they didnt want to be there...no intensity whatsover.
 



Yeah, I was initially gonna add a disclaimer that we shouldn't be so biased, being that the camera was right under the Jukebox, but UAPB had 0% 'umpfff'..... They brought NO mustard at all.

Man The JSU Power sound wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy BETTER. Sound like SU just learn this after JSU played it.
 
It would have been better if the camera was not in a crowd where you heard all the conversations around it when PB was playing since they were all the way on the far end of the stadium.

1 Rd - SU
2 Rd - PB
3 Rd - Toss Up - PB played that Usher tune too fast in my opinion, if they would have slowed it down I would have given it to them.
4 Rd - Su by a edge
5 Rd - Su

He more than likely like SU version a lot ... so much he just had to hate.. Dude seems to be very simple minded.

Haters... That's how you know you are doign SOMETHING correctly.

And, in all seriousness... Consistantly, song-for-song, NOBODY in the SWAC can touch the arranging team at SU.

I agree.. you won't find another arranging team to match what SU has.

I think it's great and fortunate that we are able to keep folk on staff that understand what style suites SU band the best.

Nate Haymer is developing into an arranger that will possibly surpass alot of expectations real soon ( i feel that he already has) and he is still young..

Who says he isn't a student of GSU?... never said he was in the band...

It's more evidence that would say he goes to GSU than evidence that says other wise.. wouldn't you say?

I meant to say bedroom instead of "bandroom".. if that's what made you think I was saying he was in gsu band..
 
All i'm saying dude has his own opinion and is not a spokesman for Grambling State University nor the Band. Dude says he's a fan anyway. Keep GSU out of this thread.

I know I'll ruffle some SU feathers with this but I'll give my honest opinion about SU.

SU possess the same weaknesses they always have. After the intial (0-0) look of hearing that raw power hit you in the face..it wears off after about the 2nd song. Everything starts running together or sounding the same.

They treat every song like they are on Roid Rage...in music you simply can't do that. It distorts the clarity and natural feeling the song is meant to convey. PB approached the game the best way to 'attack' SU. IMO its never smart to try to out blow SU...you simply can't do it.

Saying all of that SU still won. I love SU's style and flare. The trumpet section is impeccable. I would just like to hear a little more variety from them....in terms of style of play.

I know "if it ain't broke, why fix it" but I've heard SU do more. I was disapppointed in their versions of 'Bittersweet' & 'Holding You down'. I've heard some crazy sick ballads from SU over the years...the rest was great though, in the way only SU could do it.
