Not sure who is doing the voting at the SWAC but neither of these guys will start for us... Go figure... And if my memory serve me well Duran was dismissed from SU team early on by Stump..

Coach Mitchell said at the QB club meetings that he's expecting Josh Duran to do the punting and William Griswold to handle field goals and kickoffs. Conversely, they will back up each other whenever needed.

Yeah....that secondary was suspect.....and I'm sure the staff knew it....looks like adjustments have been made....

Hate to break it to you but it ain't the personnel. It's the coach. Now maybe if you improved your talent back there, it would cover up the bad calls/coaching.

I forgot to mention that Coach Mitchell also announced the hiring of a "kicking coach." It's former All-American Breck Ackley from SU's former championship team. Ackley has been working for his father's business after his attempts to catch on with an NFL team were not successful.

Because Ackley's so young, it should make for interesting competition among the kicking coach and his two kickers. Almost every college has a Special Teams coach, but they know so little about kicking that they leave the kicker(s) to practice on their own.

Few go so far as to hire a specialized "Kicking Coach." Having Ackley developing kickers not only bodes well for the present kickers but should entice other serious kickers to come to SU.

We have the best coaching staff ever, bar none. Trust me when I tell you, we'll be A-okay. I'm not 2000+ miles away just "guessing" and I don't know what's going on about everyone else's squads BUT!!!!! I DO know about our squad and what I've seen't, heard't, felt'th, smell'th lol, et al senses that relate to common sense forces me to KNOW that we'll be A-okay.

You can take that to the bank. We're repeating our championship back-2-back. But you can disbelieve it until it happens if it helps you all to sleep @ night. :emlaugh: :lmao:  :bawling: :emlaugh: :p :lecture: :lmao:

we dont care about being picked first in the EAST....the games are played on the field not on paper.[/B]

Many don't realize this. They are getting so hyped over picks and blah, blah, blah: all this wishful thinking means nothing once the teams hit the field. Like Coach Rob would say "We show what we can do on the field"! We don't have to talk, wish upon a star and go crazy over votes.:D

There is too much going on this year for UAPB to be in the mix right now. I have always said that you had the best DC in the SWAC...now what happened to your defense last year, I don't know...lol All you needed was some offense to win some games. If your new OC works out, you will be okay.

However, the focus right now is on whether PV can win it all again, if Gram can bounce back, if Stump can bring Jags program back, if TxSO can continue to improve, and if will Comegy rebound. AAMU is getting some love but they are not really a team of interest. Most expect them to remain average and hope to come out of the pack if a better team does not emerge. UAPB, Valley, Alabama State, and Alcorn are all under the radar right now. The only interest at AlaState is if Spears can make an impact. There is just no real interesting story on Alcorn, Valley, AAMU, or UAPB.

I bet anybody anything that we won't finish last in the West! AND we very well might be contenders for the West and the conference title!!!

Seems like AJ has bought into the hype of what the prognosticators are saying. Banks is gone so that's going to leave a huge void in their running game, a HUGE void.

We reload at running back... weve always had a running back since we been in the SWAC.... Jerimiah Bonds, Nick Luke, Ulysses Banks... whoever the starter is next year will follow these 3.

No they won't. Nobody you had last year came close to Banks.

LAST YEAR? Banks had 80% of the carries.... u know HE WAS THE MAN.. just like Bonds and Luke were before him.... name a year AAMU didnt have a running back.... Hell our quarterback played half a season and had more rushing yards than your LEADING rusher.

Thank goodness!!!! I think the past few seasons, all SU fans have seen the importance in having a solid kicker. We lost several games from missed routine kicks.

And you still struggled to beat one of our worst offenses since james b#ll by only 8 points at your place. It's highly unlikely that you'll beat JSU at home without a runningback like Banks. You know I'm right, but I know you'll still make excuses.

By the way, JSU has always kept your runningbacks in check, except for last year when we had no offense to give our defense a chance to rest, allowing Banks to have a decent game. Like I said, no Banks, no running game.

I don't know why everybody is knocking PV... Henry Frazier has stuck with his plan. When PV was not winning in PV's early years Frazier did not waiver... He kept to his plan.... When a program is that bad u can't fix it over night. He played freshmen and let them learn on the job and it paid off in 2007,2008,2009.... He has kept his coaches... He has kept the schemes in place... He has stayed the course... People give PV a hard time and no respect.. Its time to get over that. Henry Frazier has laid a good blueprint for coaches to follow in how to rebuild a bad program... Stay the course and good things will eventually happen for your program....

Nobodys knocking PV. They were champions last season. Just cant see them winning this season. Gram was by far the most talented team SU faced last season. PV might come in 4th or 5th in the West this season.

You're speaking w/ quite a few folx who cannot spell "football" correctly yet alone attempt to understand the actual game from coaching to executing.

I'm not wasting keystrokes explaining nada to them anymore. Our squad and coaching will do the explaining after they take the "L." lol They said this same silly shit last year as well============> :retard: TSPN needs "NoPass-NoType." lol
