Do you think that carrying a gun makes you feel more secure when you're out and about? I know some people that carry guns that are just waiting for someone to act a fool. I think that's why I don't carry a gun.

I carry mine for self preservation.
99% of the people around me don't even know I have it when out rolling around the city kicking it.
Basically it get me out my house, to my car, and back in my house, safe.
(especially pulling up the driveway and getting out at night)

I like knowing if I see someone run up on me or try to play the "bump the back fender, carjack" routine, I got something handy.

Yes it does. For example, I recently viewed some potential investment properties in Prince Williams county, VA and this particular neighborHOOD was not the nicest of places. My damn realtor was so damn scared she was shaking. I'm not kidding. When my wife told her I was packing, she cooled quickly. But I felt very secure that day. Trust me, I was happy as hell one of those thugs didn't try anything, but I was ready to go to war if they would have.

Styles, I am tempted to move to VA for that very reason. I am hoping that the GOP strips DC Gun laws though as they are aiming for.

All I will say is that I go to the range 3 times a week... my last visit I was tested to 97% accuracy within 40 yards. One thing about me is I keep my head on a swivel and I dont let anyone I dont know get close enough to me to do anything dumb. They give guns to any and everyone now... not to mention the people that buy them off the street. People are getting robbed with guns, knives or anything else...I conceal mine and youll never know I have it on me so I have to say yes.. it does make me more secure. Invade my personal space looking suspcious and you will see how secure I am.

Call me paranoid, but I live in West Jackson. I was headed to work one morning and and realized I left my "girlfriend" Glockeshia at the house. I did a U turn and ended up being 5min late for a meeting as a result. lol

It's piece of mind for me. I pray to God I never have to use it, but I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. A lot of people have asked me..."If you got it and somebody acts a fool, then aint you gonna have to use it?" I then ask them a question...."Is the person acting a fool cussing me out, or whatever?" Because if thats the case, I'll just turn the other cheek. I can't see a reason why I would have to pull it unless I intend to use it. You must always apply "Fight or Flight" criteria. If I can leave the situation, then I will...it's that simple.

ditto...and also I know this in vice versa also. I don't know you, you or them over there or what they got. So I feel safer knowing that Im ready. if something pops off and "THEY" don't have a weapon, then ill politely pull mine out, remove the clip and one in the chamber and pass the gun to someone Im with and keep the clip in my pocket, and handle whatever it is.

I live in a house with my 2 sisters and grandma hell yes i feel safe when i got my bussa baby on me. I moved from mississippi to lafayett at the end of the year when some lil fools broke into my grandma house. Thank god she wasnt there. All i gotta say if a mu fugga try to get in my house when im there they are as good as dead bc im shooting to kill. And i try my best not to drive at nite bc i dont wanna get jacked either.

I tell my sisters that all the time to make the right decisions all the time and beware of your surroundings. I dont mind me getting jacked but im really scared for my sisters. I know these young punks prey on females alot.

It makes me nervous. I am not licensed to carry. However I rather take that risk than go to Memphis and certain other places without it.

That's me ^^^^^. If someone is talking trash, I'll leave. I can be all sorts of punks, pussies, whatever... but I saved their life w/ me leaving. lol I pray I'm never forced to make that quick-type decision. I'm @ a point in life now where I won't second guess myself and will squeeze quickly 5-7 times w/out thought but rather a natural reaction and hope those things fly to where the red dot is located day or night.

A few ago, I installed a new alarm w/ microwave junk :retard: on the newest truck and in the wee hours of the a.m., it went off. I grabbed Mr Ruger w/ flashlight and out the front door I went cocked-safety off-finger on trigger slight pressure w/ red dot. I forgot it was a tree a few tens of feet from the drivers' door and I quickly pointed that red dot on that thing and was about to let it go until my mind clicked and said "wavering limb, fool!!!!!" lol

We never know about situations though. (thinking about the angered Spanish male a few weeks ago who was about to shoot up a Walmart near Mesquite and had 3 loaded clips for his 9mm until an off-duty officer just HAPPENED to be in Walmart w/ his wife and newborn son had a shoot-out w/ the guy as folx were running and screaming inside. :( ) Stuff happens.

They have already stripped it some. DC residents can get a license to have hand guns if I'm not mistaken. You might want to check that out and apply for your permit.

I'm just like you all. I do my best to avoid foolishness. What's funny though folks think you're a punk or weak because you try to avoid and stay away from that type of mess. Mofos just don't know though. It's to protect them.

Exactly! Once you reach the point in your life when you have "too much to lose" you start thinking differently. I noticed Smoke saying earlier that he would give his gun up and handle binnis with his fists if the need arised. I don't expect him at his age to think like me, so that's his way of doing things. But if I got the time to take out my gun, take out the clip, and then empty the chamber then I got a hell of enough time to walk away or avoid the situation.

You preaching knowledge K~.

Being issued a permit is a lot of responsibility. You just can't go around and murder ppl just because they looked @ you crazy or said something throwed towards you. lol :emlaugh: That's straight up murder and when the state is done w/ you, the civil action will break you AND your community (if you're married :read: ). The parameters for deadly force authorization are fairly plain and not vanilla. If there's no way out and one has to put a "stop" or "halt" to a negative situation (felony), then it's allowable once all other reasonable measures have taken place.

Like P said, you are kicking out some straight knowledge right there. You notice it's always those cats that have nothing to lose that usually causes the trouble. Those mofos can go to jail for a few years and get out like nothing happen. While folks like us can't take that risk and if we do it can possibly ruin our lives. Smoke is still in that 'Keeping It Real' faze in his life. More power to him.

Lol lol.. I have one but wouldn't consider carrying it around. Temper to bad for that. Been done shot someb ody and lord knows I can't do one day in the joint. I do think it makes some feel safer knowing they got something for a possible major problem..

I've been carying mines since my sophmore year in college... My parents got it for me because I use to travel at night going to and from college... Scared of it but will use it if I have to!!!

GUD, now hell now... Y U all up on the net telling us where U put the thing? Man.... erase that part. lol :emlaugh: C'mon bull.... lol

Might as well not have one. The chances of getting to it when needed is slim to none.

I thought everybody was talking concealed carry.

My temper too bad to carry a gun..... I get road rage bad.... so no I dont carry a gun... but i know if I need one my best friend has an arsenal. lol

Welp, some of us were.

Sure.

I'm just saying that being afraid of your weapon and hiding it in your vehicle is not exactly the same as concealed carry. And that it kind of defeats the purpose of having a weapon at all.

Wasn't referring to your post.

:)
