Re: Healthcare Part II

Some of these knee-grows see nothing wrong with this phrase, "come see so I can tell you something".

And exactly how do we do that? It's clear that the government (republicans and democrats) have their own agendas that THEY want to take care of. They will tell us (the people) anything, so we can employ (vote for) them.

Basically, we have nothing more to choose from other than two big bowls of shat. We just vote for the one we think smells the best.

The people care about where their money in taxes goes...just not enough to make a stand and demand that the government do what they were hired to do (ie SERVE the people)

The roles are reversed. We should be telling THEM what to do for us...not the other way around. But this crap has been going on for so long, it's become the norm.

So now, it's a big arse snowball effect. How do we stop this from continuing to roll out of control?

We have to educate ourselves and educate our Brothers/sisters around us!! Example:
Healthcare bill...we've discussed it to DEATH on this site and have shared plenty of information as to what's in the bill! We even took it a step further to break down tax brackets, etc. That is GREAT information that most other folks don't know. What Toi posted in the first healthcare thread where it listed what benefits are in the bill and when the go into effect...to print that out, make copies and distribute it would do A LOT b/c we know that the insurance companies are not going to actually inform people of the changes to their plans or their options. Forward that information along, even if it's just putting it in the mailboxes of your neighbors...they can't say they never received the information.

Get trained to be a deputy registrar so we can register people to vote. Not only get people registered to vote but explain why it's important that they vote. Not even pushing one party over the other...just providing the information. Yes I know deputy registras can't endorse one party over the other, do it as a seperate event. Register the people...then come back later with the information. This is what my org is in the process of doing...getting trained to register people to vote! The primary elections in February in the State of Illinois had a HORRIBLE voter turnout!! Just awful...but then mofos want to complain!! It's laughable!!

We have to get involved in demanding our politicians to do stuff for us!! Right now the main parties controlling the Govt. are Repubs/Dems...that's what we got to deal with. Doesn't matter WHO is in control if we make our voices/demands heard they can't deny us!! Politicians where I live don't even campaign in my area b/c they already know "we" aren't going to vote against them. They haven't done a DAMN thing for this area either...some would think their only area was Chicago. hmph...haven't gotten a vote out of my household in over 7 years either!!

At Tavis' summit the story of A. Phillip Randolph was constantly used as an example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._Philip_Randolph,
As told by the panelists, A. Phillip Randolph went to President LBJ and told him that more jobs/justice was needed for African Americans. The response from LBJ was along the lines of, "okay. You are correct. But make me"! As Minister said he doesn't know if LBJ was saying "make me" to mean he didn't want to do it or he needed to show to his fellow congressmen that he didn't have a choice b/c of the voice of the (black) people was so strong that they were making him do it. Either way...A.Phillip Randolph's response was to gather over 100,000 African Americans with the intention of marching on WAshington. They made LBJ listen to them...

We don't like what Obama is doing then we need to "make" him listen to us!

The Latino community is marching loud with their demands. How the heyal can you have people marching to demand something...when some of them aren't even legal?!! :lol:But they do it!

The Gay/lesbian community is marching loud with their demands. Don't ask don't tell...and other rights for them.

College students at Berkely in California are acting a fool over tuition hikes; protesting. They are making their demands heard! HBCU students must not need money:retard:

But we are the ones that are MOST AFFECTED by everything in America...and we are silent! :shame:

Before you ask/make the statement...please believe everything I listed above I am currently working on in my community and I am open to any other suggestion/advice.

Perfect example casums...

That's at exam direct comparison....

What the hell are you talking about?

Good divert...

I asked how many extra irs employees were being added with this bill.....

Don't worry I answered ....

Divert these! I have not been in this thread so I have no idea what the conversation is about. The only reason why I am here now is I was told that you where trying to be slick towards me.

Stop swinging from my hairs and get some knowledge about yourself.

Deuces

Funding for (16,500) IRS employees was added to the bill for the purpose of keeping track of those Americans/businesses that follow the bill's guidelines. Just like if a person/business doesn't follow tax guidelines, etc...you may/may not get a letter from the IRS.

it's already been discussed that the bill states every American will have to purchase health insurance. The 12 or 13 States that are suing are stating THAT requirement is unconstitutional.

I'm not really seeing what your point is with this one since it's already been discussed.

It's not like the bill is saying every American has to purchase the SAME health insurance plan for the same amount. The bill will providing govt. assistance for those individuals/families that can't afford. Just like with Section 8...the person/family, depending on income/number in household, has to contribute some to the monthly rent. Section 8 doesn't always cover the entire amount.

In my lifetime I've only known of one person that did not want health insurance. My Aunt's boyfriend...he died January '09. He was the sickest man I ever met...and if he had gone to the doctor more and taken care of himself he would still be alive. You best believe when he died that hospital was trying its hardest to stick my Aunt with those bills...b/c even though he CHOSE to not have health insurance...he still had bills when he went to the hospital.

It's all good to protest until they asses need to go to the hospital and somebody has to pay for that bill...your taxdollars!! LMAO Either way...you paying!! LMAO

Naw.. Casums... first off it is unconstitutional to force American to purchase ANY product.

I can understand being for SOME of this stuff in the bill.. but to be for EVERY piece of it is unreal... I would make that same point had this been the other side proposing a bill....

Companies already stating it will cost them an additional 200Mil to comply to what the government deems enough "Coverage"......

If they don't comply.. the penalty is 2k....:retard:

That don't strike an alarm?!?.....they basically are going to price the insurance companies out of business....

Would you rather spend 200 mil to comply or just take a 2 thousand dollar penalty?....

Once the insurance companies are out of business than guess who is coming to take their place?

If you think that health care is the only reason for 16,500 new federal employees to POLICE the people... you done gone...:retard:

Okay SUtrp96, what do you suggest we do to get health care on track for folks? What do you suggest to help the folks who work jobs where they can't afford insurance?

Like liability insurance?

You driving a car brah... come on nah... You can actually "HURT" someone in your car....so that only make sense don't you think?

Sometimes some of you just want to pitch an arguement even when it don't make sense....:retard:

So it isn't unconstitutional to require citizens to buy something?

But didn't you JUST say that it was unconstitutional to FORCE americans to pay for ANY product. Don't make exceptions.

It makes perfect sense for us to have auto insurance.

Why can't it make perfect sense for us to have health insurance as well? Shouldn't we be liable for ourselves as well?

Perhaps Obama should have aimed for free health care for Americans instead.

It only make perfect sense... because if I hit you in my car.... It's only right I have a way to PAY for YOUR damages....

Totally different from Health Care...

How about the government force everyone to purchase a house and start paying property taxes.... No more RENT... Let me be quiet because this administration may just love that idea....smh

J4L...

You ain't hurting no one if you choose not to buy health insurance and have no way to pay when you get hurt so you get a lien on your property... no one gets hurt by that but you.. since that was your decision, you have to deal with it...

But don't sit here a play like even YOU think it is perfectly ok not to have a way to pay for someones damages if YOU hit them on the road...
:retard:

Man...honestly. Everybody ain't gonna be happy all the time.

But if folks are gonna batch and moan about having to pay LESS for healthcare, then forget it. Just scrap the whole thing and let the insurance companies screw everybody over with their expensive plans, and deny folks coverage because they are sick. You know what? Give the people the option to buy insurance. If they don't buy it, (as cheap as it's gonna be), and something happens to them to where they need medical care, I hope the doctors triple what they charge now.

I don't think anybody is really in love with the idea of feeling forced to buy insurance. But shoot, if we held ourselves more accountable for our health, by taking the necessary steps to cover our asses, then Obama wouldn't have felt the need to do what he did.

Truth be told...If I can't afford health insurance, then I sure as hell won't be able to afford to go see a doctor when I get sick. And let's not talk about medicine....shoot.

His whole point went awry when he threw "ANY" (in all caps...to make a point) in his thought. Matter of fact, it was wrong to begin with. But "ANY" made it even more wrong.

The point is that if it IS "unconstitutional to force Americans to buy ANY product", then why are we forced to buy auto insurance?

The harder you try to answer this really rhetorical question, the more you refute your initial point. But I think deep down, you know this....

But keep talking...

The government don't even have fight some of you....they got some of you to the point to where you would probably work another job and "donate" it all to the government....

Some of you older cats in with this bs... don't ever tell no one Public Enemy was one of your favorite groups...it's quite obvious some of you just listen to "beats"...and don't read..lol

do yall brah....

You can pay out of pocket... or work it off.

I hear ya...I see you feel like playing crazy

What you live in lala land or something?

This ain't going no where...you talking mo crazy by each post....

States make people buy auto insurances, which are the worst thieves out there, such as State of Louisiana Insurance Commission. Louisiana had an Insurance Comissioner who brought a brand new $50,000 vehicle almost every year and laughed about when questioned. I guess some people prefer some of the highest auto insurance rates so they can say they live in a State that governs itself. But States are governments too.
