No matter who is coaching, there is always going to be a certain amount of excitement about SU Football. If Bugs Bunny was our coach and Elmo Fugg was our OC. we would still sell more season tickets that anyone else in the SWAC.

At this point, IMHO, Stump has done all he can do, and is going about things right. He is working with Alumni and has the players respect and attention, and has zipped (thats a Doc Gregs term, you Jukes know it) some players already. So we will see.

Well i know at Grambling the coaches preach education first, that's what i was basing my response on. Has always been like that here.:read:
 
this is the honeymoon phase...we all been through it....anything a new coach does gets praise from the local press because it's different from the old guy who was fired. recruiting is mysteriously better, etc....Every story is a feel-good story until the season begins and then reality sets in...

Remember Comegy year 1 at JSU....they loved him..JSU fans walked into stadiums with a swagger until Spears took his lunch one October afternoon and he never was the same that year...

Barlow went 4-0 year 1......look what happened..

And on the way back......SU wasn't that bad off to begin with....Pete had a good 08 season...everyone else began to step up and evened the competition out...
 
Sorry, but the way we see it on the bluff, S.U. stepped down.....we're not impressed with the rest of ya'll :lol: :emlaugh:

Bullshit!!! I dont recall Pete emphasizing education first (as a priority) in his first season like Mitchell is doing.
