Cowboys Cut Terrell Owens!!

T.O. is the best receiver in the league, but the best deal he could get was a 1-year, $6.5 million dollar contract from the friggin Buffalo Bills??? Man please....................

Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Randy Moss, Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, and Brandon Marshall are all better than him right now.

Owens is not the best receiver in football. If he was, Dallas would not have cut him. Now, Owens still is a solid receiver, but not the best in football with Fitzgerald, Boldin, Calvin Johnson
Andre Johnson and Randy Moss in the league.

Speaking of Moss didn't he catch the most touchdowns in a season in NFL history last year, but you think Owens, who has been among the leaders in dropped passes the last few seasons is the best in the NFL?

You say Dallas needs a QB. I do not know, considering the team has went through Quincy Carter, Drew Bledsoe, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson since Troy Aikman. There is nobody in free-agency who is better than Romo and Dallas is not going to eat all that salary moving into a brand new stadium by casting aside Romo.

Dallas can go to the Super Bowl if the Arizona Cardinals can without TO.[/QUOTE]

The difference between Dallas and Arizona is that the Cards had Fitzgerald whom I would rather have than T.O. and they have Boldin and Breaston. Not exactly chopped liver at the WR position. So comparing that situation is not all that accurate. I will not even get into the fact Kurt Warner is a more proven Qb than Romo. He has actually won playoff games and been to 3 SBs. League MVP......etc.....

Sure Dallas can go the Super Bowl without T.O. but I don't think they can go with the WRs they currently have and the OC they have as well. Remember Arizona has a SB winning OC as Head coach. Dallas has no pedigree like that on their staff. Not to mention they have a lot of under achievers on that team. Funny to say this.........but they have more issues and problems than Arizona.

T. O. wasn't Dallas's biggest issue. Sure he is a locker room issue with his diva acting ways. But normally dude produces. Dallas has nobody in their locker room with any nuts. T.O. is just like Dennis Rodman was. He works hard, stays in great shape but is a character. Rodman in the wrong locker rooms seemed to be a cancer.......Rodman with the Bulls in a locker room ran by MJ and backed up by Phil Jackson could harness the Worm. T.O. needs to be in a locker room like that and Dallas needs to develop or bring some Leaders on to that team. Aikman, Irvin and Emmitt all were leaders. Them mofos didn't allow folks to tear up their team. Jimmy Johnson didn't either. Hell they even won with Switzer because by that time you had great leadership in the locker room even though Barry and Troy didn't like each other. LOL.

The following persons (with the exception of dacontinent) were wrong:
Cowpokes gonna find out that T.O. was not the problem.
Snake Bit ROMO is.
The Cowpokes will never go anywhere with ROMO as their QB.
You are 100% correct. This will only expose Romo even further.
You are absolutely correct P. I am hotter than fish grease right now. Romo is totally overrated. He's a decent QB at best. T.O. was the only player to bring it every single game.
I agree (they'll be lucky if they win 8 games)
I don't see why the Cowboys released him. He was the ONLY big-play threat they had. The only reason Witten was always open down the middle was because Owens drew double coverage and cover-2 zone on almost every play. Barber and Choice were able to get 3-4 yards a carry up the middle primarily because the defense couldn't walk-up the safeties, especially if Owens lined up in the slot....

All the Cowboys did was lower their talent level.

I'm no T.O. fan, but he was their best weapon, by far.

I predict 7-9 for the chicken-fried nation next season....

:smh:

Go Steelers!! :tup::tup:
I don't by into this ESPN Uncle Tom Jackson analysis of locker room chemistry. How the hell a grown ass man making a million plus dollars a year can't do his job because a receiver on the team receives media attention. That is total BS and soft. Flozell Adams jumps offside during a critical play or misses a block because TO get media attention. Romo can't win a big game because TO gets media attention. Cornerbacks hurt or getting burnt because TO gets media attention. LMAO... I am a Cowboy fan to heart and this was a very dumb ass reaction to the media decision. Jason Whitten catches will be decreased by half because defenses no longer have to leave the middle of the field open do to cheating a safety over on top of TO to prevent the big play. And lets face it, Jason Garrett is so overrated it is sickening. My Dallas Cowboys will be lucky to finish .500 next year. You don't get rid of your only quality receiver and expect to win. RW is as slow as mealases and cannot get open.
WEAPONS my arse! The only proven CONSISTENT player on that offense now is Witten, but let's see what he does without TO. Everybody else you named are either unproven or OVERRATED. MB didn't do squat as a full time starter which I predicted. Now JJones is thinking about starting Choice or Jones and bring MB in to finish games. Both Choice and Jones played in and had a few decent games which still make them unproven. Are receiving corp is average at best. Everybody and their momma know RW is overrated and has no work ethic. And you're are talking about WEAPONS. Man get out of here. What team did you watch last year?
TGEE, I guess we are the only two Cowboy fans on this site that have any sense. You hit the nail on the head with this post. Mofos talking about TO is a distraction because some grown arse 20/30 year old men can't do their jobs. Those mofos are just pitiful.
DGTM, just hold that in your pocket until the end of next season. The scoffers won't be hating on you then. No, I am not a Cowboy fan; but, they will have a better year w/o T.O.
Please put the pipe down.
Man I tried to explain this to some guys who put All Dallas woes on TO...LOL

1. Jerry Jones
2. Defense...Zack Thomas
3. Offensive coordinator. Jason Garret
4. Tony Romo..Can't produce when it counts
5. Wade Phillips
6. TO disruption. And I'm stretching here.

TO is not even the top 5 reason Dallas had trouble. I hate Dallas but I watched a lot of games cause that's all they show next to Titans games.
Dude, get out of my head. I'm seeing this damn near exactly how you wrote it up yonder. It's the "in" thing to blame everything on TO, but Romo is a far worse problem (on the field where it matters) than TO was. How many times was TO running by his damn self and Romo threw the ball out of bounds or it was way over his head or too damn short??? And all them stupid ass Brett Favreish INTs he threw. That INT against Pittsburgh was terrible. Those 2 he threw to Ed Reed were downright foolish. Not to mention Romo holding the ball like a loaf of bread and fumbling all over the place.

TO was vocal and outspoken, but he wasn't always wrong about what he said. He just took the wrong approach sometimes. That's why there was a "chemistry" problem. A lot of the players agreed with what he was saying. They just weren't gonna be the ones to say it. But on the field, not one Cowboy did better than TO for the entire season. Even with his drops, TO was better. Dallas shoulda said fvck the media.
wow@that list. who's left?@"Cancer".

So now that TO's gone, what's up with Romo? what are they gonna do bout him? I see they got a new back up QB. I remember watching a few Cowboys games in 07 and Romo could not hold on to the ball when it was snapped(and this was before the injury), that was awful in itself. I can't get with his hype.
I love how everone blames TO..lol I was listening 103.3 and everyone blamed TO but micheal Irvian...
Lets be real... T.O. made Romo so when people say Romo will be better with out him is not going to happen

Not a "throw it in your face reminder." :goodbad::lol:
Ya Damn Skrate!!!!

By the way, these persons were right:

Great! We have plenty of work to do but this is a good step in getting things straightened out in Big D.The next best thing that could happen would be Jerry "Fidel Castro" Jones ceding power to the next in line (Stephen Jones). I know it's wishful thinking and won't happen but I can at least dream.

T.O. needed to go but the real problem in Dallas lies with the Head of State, Jerry Jones.
Boy it's a bunch of haters on here. Finally the situation has been resolved. The Cowboys will be better than the 9-7 team they were last year no doubt. You guys must don't realize that we still have a boatload of weapons. 3 running backs that could start for anybody in the league, Jason Witten, Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton (sometimes), Miles Austin(a star in the making), Martellus Bennett, and etc. Psycho Kitna is an upgrade over ancient Brad Johnson, because they saw last year when Romo went down that Johnson was not the answer as a backup.
DGTM, just hold that in your pocket until the end of next season. The scoffers won't be hating on you then. No, I am not a Cowboy fan; but, they will have a better year w/o T.O.
Man, you know how some people are about big names/superstars. They can't see winning without them. He must have forgotten when T.O. played with the Eagles, the Eagles made it to the Superbowl without him after he was horse collared by that sorry arse Roy Williams.

I'm alright with the weapons we have on offense. Witten is the best tight end in the NFL, Marion Barber is a beast and Felix Jones and Tashard Choice are great compliments to him in the backfield, Williams is gonna be a solid #1 WR, Romo will regain his form with better protection and not having to worry about satisfying T.O. and I think Miles Austin is a good #3 receiver. If we can get a half-way decent WR to play opposite Roy Williams and get that sorry arse offensive line to play decently our offense will be tough to stop. Ofcourse, Jason Garrett has to get his shat together as well.

I just had to re-post this shat.

Umm, TGee, sounds like Uncle Tom might have been right about the chemistry thing. I don’t remember anyone being called out this season or anything even though we had some tough stretches. Good team chemistry goes a long way. By the way, how do you like Witten’s production so far this season? Witten has dam near 90 catches and 1,000 yards. He’s already surpassed the number of receptions and yardage he had last year. So much for his numbers being decreased by T.O.’s departure. I tried to tell you. LOL. Oh, and one last thing, we are 10-5. So much for the “Cowboys will be lucky to finish .500 next year†thought.

And Robber, I can’t believe you “saw†things damn nearly exactly “how you wrote that up yonder.†I was and still am appalled by your agreeing with this when TGee posted it.

As for Styles, well you are who you are.

Just an FYI through 15 games

Witten: 88 receptions 954 yards 1 TD
Owens: 55 receptions 803 yards 4 TD

Witten's team: 10-5, playoff bound;could win division against Eagles
Owen's team: 5-10; home bound;will finish last in their division

So what does this prove? lol. It's not like T.O. is the coach of the Buffalo Bills and it was his leadership or something that why the Bills are sorry.

I didn't agree then and I don't agree now. Last season Romo was our problem. Just saw a stat on ESPN that said of the 12 turnovers Dallas had last December, Romo had 9. That's why we lost. TO had nothing to do with that. The difference between now and then is Romo stepped his game up. He seems to have realized he can't be reckless with the ball. (see my Ed Reed INT reference). And notice one thing in my post. I never predicted gloom and doom. I knew we were gonna win with or without TO.

mane,
Romo is still soft and garbage... Garrett is still overrated. The defense is a beast and Romo is playing a little better this winter but that dude is still untrustworthy as a QB...

Dude, what rock have you been hiding under? Do you really want me to post some articles about Roy blasting Romo about not throwing the ball his way and not hitting him in stride. Do I really have to do that to you? The only reason this didn't become front page news because it is Roy and not TO. I guess you starting following the team yesterday or something. And Jason's TD numbers have decrease. He has only 1 TD.

If Alex Smith is your QB you shouldn't speak on Romo.

The part in bold, yes. Do you get it? No, probably not. Who gives a frack what Roy has to say? He's not good enough to start problems. LOL. Maybe one day you'll understand that and the difference between someone like him starting shat and a bonafide superstar.

Anyhoot, and about Jason Witten having only 1 TD this year. He's not being used the same way he was in past years. He blocks more once Dallas gets deep down in the redzone this year. And it's not like he had a bunch of TDs last season - he only had 4. By the way, his 88 receptions this year is the second-most receptions he's ever had in his career and he is only 8 off of his career high.

The only proven CONSISTENT player on that offense now is Witten, but let's see what he does without TO.
How did he do without TO? LOL.

If Alex Smith is your QB you shouldn't speak on Romo.

Having Alex Smith as a QB, has allowed me to recognize a sorry QB when I see one. Romo is mediocre, nothing more, nothing less...

I will admit that Dallas is playing ball right now but if they win the super bowl it will be "in spite of Romo" not "because of Romo"

I know you don't think too fondly of Romo, but he will be the reason Dallas will or will not win the Super Bowl. Romo has around 4,200 yards passing, 24 touchdowns and only eight picks with a 97 QB rating. That is damn good considering his best receiver is an undrafted free-agent. Romo has stepped his game up and has made better decisions with the football. That, coupled with a solid defense, is the reason the Cowboys are in the playoffs.

pop

You are letting your hate impair your judgement. Romo and Rodgers are playing better ball at QB than anyone in the league right now.

Jason Witten finishes the season with 94 receptions and 1,030 receiving yards.

Tony Romo breaks his own passing record.

The Cowboys offense has its best offensive output ever.

So much for a drop off in production.

What a great offseason move in getting rid of T.O.:clap:

Gramfan, u want a cookie? Team chemistry ain't had shii to do with nothing then nor now. Wade taking over the defense is the biggest reason for our success. Miles Austin has been the biggest factor for us offensively. If Miles Austin doesn't step up on offense, we don't make the playoffs as we had no offense prior to Austin taking off.

How bout those cowboys!!!

The following persons (with the exception of dacontinent and XHALE9802) were wrong:

 I was posting a question and my opinion. and btw, when I posted that Romo WAS playing bad ball. :D Even Robber(The BIGGEST Cowboy fan alive) pointed that out.
