Know what you mean.
Those old-school Zeta Iota chicks were the female version of Eta Eta. :scared:

HA!! Don't get me started on Delta Danger and Epsilon Violence.....oops sorry.....I meant Delta Theta and Epsilon Gamma. :lecture: :emlaugh:

I hear ya.
But you don't know the women in the BOOM, particularly the ones from the early 90s.

I heard about the women of the early 90's at jsu...

All of yall could have went sat yall asses down blowing on them freakin "Hype Pipes"......

maaaaaaan yall niccas who had fun and memorable crab years are PAPER! yall aint crab! :lmao: only kiddin. :) but foreal, da hell you say fun! the fun began when i was fresh off the ass whoopin.

I LOOOOOVE those 98 C.C.s those six H's all possess a special place in my heart... especially two of them both from BHAM

Man dem 98 C.C.s were the TRUTH!!!!:lol: we do seem to have that effect on many. :D

wow this thread turned.

Crab year 04 great memories. but none were from the games. all you could look at was KD. Did you know we won the swac that year. I couldn't tell you anything about it.

Its crazy how the most fugged up shyt becomes the funniest though.

Like your crab sister falling down the bleachers during pre drill and bustin her leg up. Blood everywhere and the drumajors tell you don't help her up keep running. I'm like wtf.

Or your crab brothers being left in detroit. Its one thing if them fools would have still been in the bed but, they were beating on the buss as we pulled off.

Or the buss breaking down in Huntsville and you having to go out into the midst of a bunch of drunken upperclassmen. smh

now this is a crab year I can relate too!

~middle fanga~

Don't get it twisted- I definitely had my share of down moments that year as well. :smh: But I guess it was all memorable for me because of the experience itself. Remember- I knew NOTHING of Black College bands, hazing, crabbin, etc. All that shat was new to me and I can honestly say that it made me a much better and stronger person. That's why I have NO SYMPATHY for these new school folks. Hell, if I of all people can do it, then there's no excuse why the next person can't. CRABORGETDAFUCCON.COM.

of course it makes you a better and stronger person, thats everyone who crabs. but that shat was not fun, for me. after it was over, I was sooooo glad I did it and I learned to appreciate it and would do it again(), but there was nothing "best" about it. hell i'ma hazer, not a hazee. :emlaugh: memorable, maybe i'm not using that word right cause I can remember some stuff, but not from 98 A-Z. now the bond between me and my crab sisters is memorable, and our times between ourselves behind closed doors outside the bandfield and at sets, we had to make it fun between us, we was all we had.... but naw, in a white tee or suited up, i can't relate to fun. Them bastards(i love them hoes now, :D) wouldn't even let me WAVE at my boyfriend(Yo damn Trunk A Funk) at the Tuskegee game. made me walk right past him, dared me to look at him, and get on the damn bus. mind you nobody was on the buses, but when they found out my man was there, the told me, "oh yo man here, get yo ass on the bus." when I got on the bus, I CRIIIIIIIIED!! :lmao:

I knew all about HBCU bands, especially A&M and State, and then all my god brothers and boyfriend had crabbed down at Bama St, so I knew in general what was coming, but not to what extent. crabbed in high school, a brass section at that, but nothing to the nature of what we went through. hell, I never even thought crabbing a woodwind section would be so traumatizing. I learned then never to sleep on a woodwind gul. And mind you, damn near my whole section WAS Theta Iota, and sometimes i think they forgot to separate between the two. :scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

I'm an AAMU alumni but thinks overall SU is the best band in the SWAC but my question is has SU left their home stadium on any other band besides AAMU 1999 during a 5th qtr battle because they got dealt with

Between 1975 & 1978 NEVER

I feel you on that woodwind thing Crystal..... Them mofos when I crabbed.. :shame: C PHI C was full of what seemed to be permenatnt PMS'n females when I crabbed. And plus the fact...that you gotta whole bunch of females in a group, itself makes crabbing with them hell..."Attitude central"

Yes lawd. :smh: :smh: To this date, I STILL have flashbacks everytime I see dem batches that pledged me- especially dem DAYUM Stingettes!!!

But I can honestly say that my crab year (1992) was the most memorable of the four years I marched because I learned and experienced soooooo much that year. It's kinda hard to put into words (I'd be typin all dayum day  ), but like someone said earlier, I can dayum near remember EVERYTHING about that year.  Even when I hear certain songs from that year, I can tell you where I was, what I was doing and wearing.

Now my best year would have to be my 3rd year (1994); I was the only female in my section, had just crossed TBS, and just turned 21. And yes, like Roi, all built up frustrations from the previous years were taken out on the crabs of 94. :emlaugh: That's why they were my all time favorite crab class. Just ask Kremesaver. :lmao:

:( Mannnnn, they gave our azzes the blues forreal........

But umm, I can't speak for the rest of my CB's/CS's, but I sure got my "kick backs" :flippy:

and I think that may have played a part as to why I was so miserable. It was a huge transition coming from an all male section, energy is just different. like i said, I love em now, but back then...AWFUL.

That was with a much younger HEALTHIER Doc... We ain't start leaving games earlier until Doc got diagnose with prostate cancer the spring of 97'..

wow, i never knew he was diagnosed with cancer.

Shid, I'on know.....it's a few folks I wouldn't mind sending back through the ranks. :retard: :lmao:

i'm speakin about folk who brought me in, and who i brought in.

I think i could have crabbed any section in Bama States band except C phi C. I can deal with an arse whoopin or two, but i can't be feeling like less then human. Every year them mofos have like 5 crabs make it out of like 16-20. Mental hazing is a mofo i guess.

Its like if you crabbed and you accidentally killed your baby sister in a car accident the summer before predrill, them girls wouldn't care. Just ride your baby killin arse to you break smh.

do you remember hump back titty lol.

Ah...I think I get it. I think Xhale and anyone else that didn't have, atleast, a lil fun during their crab year, were probably the ones TOO worried about that arse whoop'n every day. We ALWAYS had it in the back of our minds...but, with the music and other isht, we ain't have time to dwell on it at any point.

Heck, my crab year, we had what I still call "Airport Scene" for the first game. That started at about 4 in the morn'n...and, lasted til we got in the air (couldn't tell what time that was...but, it took forever). Till this day, that scene is one of the most ignantest isht Ive ever been in the middle of. But, months after it was over...all of 97 realized that isht was kinna fun (still stressing 'kinna'....lol).

I still remember when your CB Lo' had the nerve to walk up to white by himself the UPPERCLASSMEN first day back...

I been knowing that dude since high school...none of his actions really surprised me... but it was funny how the other upperclassmen used to react to him...lmao...

My roomy at the time "Lil Ronnie" made his ass our personal maid for damn near 2 weeks....lol

I used to lay across the bed and look at him and be like... "How can you be so stupid man...." Then be like..."That's all on you".... Had Floyd doing some house duties too.... We had Spike up in there too....lol

Made Floyd do essays on some of SWAMPS flicks.....lmao....

there was way more to my crab process than just whoopin ass. 90% mental, 10% physical is the mantra. and even if it wasn't, why would I have been worried about an ass whoopin by females and I got my ass whooped by dudes in high school? it was more mental than anything, and thats what got me good. i'm not one who cares to be on lock down, and they had us on lock down. as a crab, even when you right, you wrong. Hated it. I also was not a freshman when I crabbed. the "excitement" of being away from home and off at school was over from the previous year. that also plays a big part in the "i love my crab year" lifestyle.

now the physical existed, A LOT, but i'd take an ass whoopin over dumb shat that mess with my head any day. and many times i used to be like, damn would they just whoop our ass and get it over with so we can go home.

Man I remember my crab year. My CB on Tuba passed out during the 2nd week of pre drill, while we was learning the field show...Tell me why we did the WHOLE show.....O said Run it from the top...and that Nig was still layin there!

And MCC week was the worse. You talkin bout nigs that was SCARED when Doc walked out the Bandroom! :shame: day b4 classic 03, we just got dunn with the field show and it was 2am. O let Gig(RIP) get on the box, and I saw that man ease towards them lights as "O" walked out........when Gig turned them light back on, I saw stands all on the ground and atleast 10 CB's on the ground!
:lmao:

First off....

Man, I don't think yall realized what kind of crabs we were, sometimes. Dude, we used to wanna do good for ol'heads and alum to be accepted with that "S". Mix that in with yall terrifying the isht out of us...and, now you got my CB's in there playing the Benson role....lol. Man, we had some dawgs in our crab class...but, the upperclassmen were SO unpredictable...the only way most of us reacted, was by just doing what we were told. N!gga.s just wanted that "S" that much.

Made Floyd do essays on some of SWAMPS flicks.....lmao....
...Im glad Ronnie was only wrong on a few levels for that one. Cuz, that's hilarious. Heck, that ordeal, alone, probably strengthened Floyd's faith, while strenghtening his wood...
