You must've never talked to anyone from SU about their crab year.... Mofo's could've done 5 rips...remember everything about their crab year, but the last four be spotty as he!!.

Heck, it's so far on both sides of the spectrum it's kind of weird. You remember all the nightmarish isht. But, even with that...that made the year the best, cuz you made it out on the other side with all ya CB's and CS's, and kicked alot of arse while doing it.

I have. but for me overall its a blur. we did not have fun, that shit was not fun or funny then. I do remember having to stand at attention on the field 20 minutes before each practice. just standing there. heat, rain, or whateva. Nobody but crabs out there, and you dare not move, cause I swear if you moved even with no one being out there, they saw you move. :smh: And I know I made it EXTRA HELL for the folks that came after me because of it.

Ny I hear you bout making it to the other side but damn that. it was not the best. When I was able to actually be "in the band" was when the best started for me. When I crossed, it became the best. Actually, Pep band was soooo live though! I remember that!

I'm sure now its all candy and roses for most of them up there now, but shit, back then, hells no.

I cherish the days in the back as a crab....But I had most of my fun my last 3 years... My Crab year made me love the school and most def the band... but the years after no doubt were a blast...

I still remember my last year when us senior got to Indy for the CCC and rented a van ... Doc was like "Where the fuk yall get that from"....You could tell he was pissed because we were about to have made fun....lol Man we went all over Indy in that van... got on the radio show because we rode around in that van....lol Then one of my CBs peeled off to go see his Girl who stayed a few hours away... we were like..."My man, don't get lost out there"....lol I know I was glad as hell he made it back... Cause Doc would have made all us in that van answer for that shyt.....

The only year that is spotty to me..is my 3rd year. That just came and went. But Crab, Neo, & Senor Year..were filled with memories.

now that is whats up! I agree. when you look back on it, you can't help but understand that all that shat you went though molded and created the love you have. its a few moments of bonding with your cbs/cs's you can get with, but overall that shat was hell, especially when you were amongst the upperclassmen. I remember they wouldn't even let us soak up nothin bout the atmosphere at the games, hell we couldn't even watch the games....just at attention lookin at a spot in the sky. :emlaugh: first thing they told us was we were crabs, and crabs don't have fun. they were foreal. but more hell, more love. like me and my crab sisters out my section, it was 6 of us who crabbed, and we are all still tight to this day. all of 98 was pretty tight, but them 5 guls that was on the line with me, dont nothin beat them, i love them guls. you can appreciate it afterwards, but in the moment... :smh: now them last 3...

Crab year was my best, followed by 05. I remember atleast 97% of the shyt that went on my crab year. Most of its because the pride that was gained because of what I mad it threw......I be around them band nigs now, and the reaction be lookin like im tellin war stories n shyt.

o5 was just THAT year for me as an upperclassmen.
only thing in o4 that I remember was The Detroit Classic, SU came to montgomery ( :shame: ) and the Gram game. (Them nigs came to a set after the game. maaaaan them was some cool nigs outside of them tic tac shoes)

Dumb isht always happened in Indy. Doc put us in hotel in the boonies next to a waffle house, a liquor store and The Pink Pony Strip club. Nicca still got outstanding arrest warrants in Nap town

Everyone from SU.

We didn't have the time to blackout.

I know I still remember my crab year. We had fear, but we also had fun, too. Our section did skits everyday.

It was pledging TBS that had its rough days. I was a junior by then and just took out my frustrations on the crabs of 96. Ask Southsuburbs.

Im not talking "at the time". In retrospect...it was fun. "During" was a fugg'n nightmare, and some of it I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

With your crab year you remember 95% of everything that happened around you. After that, even in the midst of you having fun, you only remember certain events or occasions.

I have very fond memories of crabbing  the process gave me much pride and love... and brought me closer to the wonderful women know as the C.C.s

That shyt was not cool at all!!! :shame:

I think me and my CS's were immune to any-and everybody by the time Alcorn week arrived! We had the "daymned if you do, daymned if you don't" attitude and your ass was all fresh/crunk b/c you just crossed. We were like, "Roi needs to sit her ass down"!! LMAO

But you know we didn't say that at all!!

wow this thread turned.

Crab year 04 great memories. but none were from the games. all you could look at was KD. Did you know we won the swac that year. I couldn't tell you anything about it.

Its crazy how the most fugged up shyt becomes the funniest though.

Like your crab sister falling down the bleachers during pre drill and bustin her leg up. Blood everywhere and the drumajors tell you don't help her up keep running. I'm like wtf.

Or your crab brothers being left in detroit. Its one thing if them fools would have still been in the bed but, they were beating on the buss as we pulled off.

Or the buss breaking down in Huntsville and you having to go out into the midst of a bunch of drunken upperclassmen. smh

Yes lawd. :smh: :smh: To this date, I STILL have flashbacks everytime I see dem batches that pledged me- especially dem DAYUM Stingettes!!!

But I can honestly say that my crab year (1992) was the most memorable of the four years I marched because I learned and experienced soooooo much that year. It's kinda hard to put into words (I'd be typin all dayum day  ), but like someone said earlier, I can dayum near remember EVERYTHING about that year.  Even when I hear certain songs from that year, I can tell you where I was, what I was doing and wearing.

Now my best year would have to be my 3rd year (1994); I was the only female in my section, had just crossed TBS, and just turned 21. And yes, like Roi, all built up frustrations from the previous years were taken out on the crabs of 94. :emlaugh: That's why they were my all time favorite crab class. Just ask Kremesaver. :lmao:

Know what you mean.
Those old-school Zeta Iota chicks were the female version of Eta Eta. :scared:

With all do respect, Crit. You can't compare a 96 crabbing at SU to a band with girls in it. The danger level was much higher.

Exactly much different..

Heck I hear folk from JSU all the time tell me how they told such and such on staff what was on their mind...

I probably would have said it though....

Shyt Im saying it now...

Crit go sit your ass down somewhere...
