Lets be real here... this is Mississippi State.... like the worst team in the best conference.. now yea they will win, but if JSU has a decent team it wont be ugly. If JSU loses this game big, they will have a below average season. I could understand if Bama, Florida or Georgia... but its Mississippi State.
Joke: If Get Ready shakes MSU's coaches hand then JSU wins!
Seriously: JSU just has to come into the game with Confidence and keep that intensity throughout the game. MSU is a the bottom of the SEC West, but they still play teams tough. JSU can't afford to have a lot of turn-overs.

Kendrick ..... Any Given Saturday my friend. J-State can win if they play their A game and get some breaks. Will it probably happen? No. But, I sure hope the players or coaches don't have your mindset.
.
If I was a coach, there would be no I would say our team has no shot to win. That is crazy. But as an observer of the sport, it is not realistic for me to believe that the Tigers can beat MSU. Sure, App. State beat Michigan and Utah beat Alabama and Boise State beat Oklahama.
However, those teams were vastly talented compared to Jackson State. All three of those teams who pulled off the upset beat quality level FBS and FCS competition. Two of them went undefeated.
When was the last time Jackson State has done anything like that outside of the SWAC? I know all about the whole any given Saturday idea, but that rarely exists when it comes to an SEC team versus a SWAC team in football. In baseball, basketball and volleyball yes. But not in football.
If I was a HC playing a FBS from a major conference, I'd play everybody...especially on defense. I'd try and keep them fresh and fast with instructions to hit like never before. No late hits, cheap shots, or that trash but just hard nosed, balls to the walls defensive hitting.
My pre-game speech would be simple... "Your effort in this game will greatly determine the extent of your playing time the rest of the season". I think our coaches allow the players to have the attitude "We can't really play with these guys..." Let them know that their job is to compete and mine is to help you "win" more plays than you lose. I won't concede anything as a coach and you don't concede anything as a player.
Kendrick I can dig a man who can keep it real:winkgrin:
I always thought pregame speeches were overrated... my high school coach pretty much let us hang out prior to the game, until 45 minutes before. Then he'd pass thru the gym where we were playing cards, checkers, chilling and simply let us know it was time to get dressed (fully).
We'd spend the time getting our minds right and he'd walk in and say..."We'll their here...Let's go!" I played two years...we were something like 23-2 overall during that time.
An Act of God
Impressive.
This is the way I look at it. SU played Houston last year and lost 55-3. JSU is better than Southern and MSU is better than Houston so the score will be 25-33-JSU
The offensive and defensive lines to do their job. Period.
And, cut out the unnecessary shit (personal fouls, late hits, et al penalties :read: ). In other words, be more disciplined (speaking towards PV as well as BOTH of us were the 2 most penalized teams in the SWAC last year :| ).
Good luck JState and give'em pure hell!
This has got to be TP cause he thinks like this,
Didn't jsu lose to SU last year ?....... SMH
PV was discipline enough to beat somebody last year
