Ive been havin a great time over on clarion-ledger talking about the Game under the name Meridianlegend. It is really funny that Their Fans really dont know why they SHould Be Jstate, but they Trying... But This What I see J state having to do to make it a Game.

1. Stop the BS put rutledge in as the Starter, he has a lot to prove to his ex teammates.
2. Tell That FReshman Quiting WR that if he is a good as they think he is; make them Pay, its his time to shine.
3. i know Jstate starts of hella Slow but Comegy needs to Dial up Rutledge to the Freshman Quick and for 6.. State dont have no confidence already, they cant run the Offense, and a Quick 6 will have them questioning what they are basin their win against J state on ( State believes they have better talent). They have no confidence in the system.
4. Stay in their head... And the Sonic Boom might need to get a unsportmanlike to mess with them... lol play "the Show" load as hell...
lol
Im going to love watching this Game lol Jstate they are down so kick the gutts out their stomach....lol
What do yall think?

The Tigers are not going beat Mississippi State. That is a given right off the bat. Just being realistic.

But in order for the Tigers to keep the game close, they have to force turnovers and protect the football on offense. As simple as that sounds, that wins games. Obviously winning third down is key. The Tigers have to play the ball control game and the defense has to limit the Bulldogs third down and big play opportunities. Mississippi State has a great defense. And that is a very high praise, considering the Bulldogs play in the vaunted SEC.

This is going to be a tough game for the Tigers not only win, but stay close.

No runs. No hits. No errors.

You have to remember Miss. State plays in the best conference in college football. That is why it is a little tough for them to score. Jackson State plays in one of the worst conferences in college football. The margin is going to bigger than 14.

If our band plays "stanky leg" during the game and gets their players to dance and not concentrate, we can win.

An Alcornite concentrating on JSU/MSU instead of Alcorn/USM?

What will Alcorn have to do to stay close with USM?

I wouldn't say it'll take a miracle, but it would take something like it. This game serves no purpose, but I guess the payout is decent.

If I was a HC playing a FBS from a major conference, I'd play everybody...especially on defense. I'd try and keep them fresh and fast with instructions to hit like never before. No late hits, cheap shots, or that trash but just hard nosed, balls to the walls defensive hitting.

My pre-game speech would be simple... "Your effort in this game will greatly determine the extent of your playing time the rest of the season". I think our coaches allow the players to have the attitude "We can't really play with these guys..." Let them know that their job is to compete and mine is to help you "win" more plays than you lose. I won't concede anything as a coach and you don't concede anything as a player.

If you gonna defend us in public forums...get our QB right...lol his name is Rutland.

Also, I doubt if the freshman sees any significant PT vs. MS State but time will tell.

Kendrick ..... Any Given Saturday my friend. J-State can win if they play their A game and get some breaks. Will it probably happen? No. But, I sure hope the players or coaches don't have your mindset.

And if Richardson is preaching any of that crap to the Blue and Gold before entering Cajun Field, I would want to rip his ass for it.

I beg to differ.....these games to me mean as much if not more than our conference games.....like an earlier poster stated, our conference is viewed by many as one of the worst in college football, so in order to to dispell that notion we must win/ be competitive in these types of games. That is one of our problems, our coaches don't go into these games even trying to win, always talking about we gonna get our players hurt and things of that nature, therefore holding them back and not letting them fully compete. Heck that's how you get hurt, half doing things and not going all out. Hell it's FOOTBALL, injuries are a part of the game. Players can get hurt weather our teams are playing against Florida or against a D-3 school. So to me weather it is us against ULL, Jackson vs Miss. State, Alcorn vs ULM, or any of our other schools playing "up", the first thing we should do is go into it with the right mentality, and play to win.....

GET RID OF THOSE D@YUM COW BELLS:tdown::tdown::tdown::tdown::tdown::tdown::tdown::tdown:
OR LET "THE SHOW" PLAY LOUD AND LONGGG..............:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Offensive line

simply as that

Same thing applies... it's man on man, size on size. No way should you let the man across from you whip your azz all night long and not put up a fight. Although I played both ways in high school and really loved playing linebacker, I also liked playing offensive guard because I got to hit someone on every play...the man in front of me. Did I win every down, hell no...but by 4th quarter we were at least equal and by games end, I felt I had an edge. Why? Surely wasn't because of talent or size...it was personal pride.

Where did that come from? An Alcornite haven't even commented on this thread and you put Alcorn in it. DAMN

We can play pretty well and still lose 38-14. If we use ball control, play mistake free and not act clueless on special teams, we can hold the margin to under 28 points. But if we try to run shotgun spread on offense and put the game in Rutland's hands, it'll get ugly quick.

My bad bruh. I tend to get Alcornites and Gramblinites mixed up for some reason.

I agree with MB. If you're going to play the game, PLAY TO WIN!! To hell with saving players. The players feed off the coach's emotion and energy.
If players feel the coach is scared and nervous, it will more than likely trickle down to the players. That must not happen.:lecture:

Lets be real here... this is Mississippi State.... like the worst team in the best conference.. now yea they will win, but if JSU has a decent team it wont be ugly. If JSU loses this game big, they will have a below average season. I could understand if Bama, Florida or Georgia... but its Mississippi State.

You Hit it; People running acting like this is a Good team. 1st the players cant run the offense yet. 2nd their QBs suck just as bad as Jackson State QBs do. 3rd Mississppi state is below Average. 4th and again They dont know the Offense yet... Their Oline is below Average and has a good Defense but they have acknowledged that Jstate has their Best DB.
Now Jackson State will get Beat, but its going to be close.. Thats why ESPNU picked the game up, just incase its a upset they will have complete coverage for the show..

Now for Alcorn, they need to just stay outside and enjoy the BBQ specials that guy has or go to lydeia (sp). SAVE YOUR MONEY, listen to the game on the Radio.. It will be over Quick..... Unless McNair Ghost comes in Play this game will be a just like watching the end of the movie 300...

The offense needs to stay on the field and score points.

The defense needs to get some turnovers and not give up the big play. A couple of defensive scores wouldn't hurt either.

I agree! If we lose it better by less then 2 touchdowns. If we win then I will be one happy camper.
