The Prairie View football staff will see a significant pay increase following the program’s best season in over 15 years.
As first reported by Chris Hummer of 247 Sports/CBS Sports, head coach Tremaine Jackson’s contract has been amended, resulting in a 35% salary increase for Jackson and his assistant coaches’ pool. The university has also committed to an increased revenue share for the football program.
In his first season as head coach, Jackson led Prairie View to their first SWAC championship since the 2009 season and the school’s first Cricket Celebration Bowl appearance.
The Panthers were 10-4 in 2025, falling short in the Celebration Bowl 40-38 in four overtimes to MEAC champion South Carolina State.
