Houston, Tx – The Texas Southern Tigers baseball team heads for Baton Rouge , Louisiana to compete in the 2008 NCAA Division I Regional Championship. The regional is double elimination and it is hosted by LSU.
TSU is the fourth seed in the tournament and they will play first seed LSU on Friday, May 30th at 1:00pm.
Southern Miss and the University of New Orleans are the other two teams in the field.
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st at 1:00pm. The losers of game one and two will play. Game 4 will feature the winners of game one and two. That game will start at 6:00pm.
The Championship game 5 will be played on Sunday, June 1st at 6:00pm. If necessary, game 6 will be played Monday, June 2nd at 1:00pm.
Texas Southern qualified for the tournament by winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Championship Tournament. This is TSU’s second SWAC title and NCAA appearance. The first were in 2004.
