Former Jackson State starting quarterback Jalon Jones has found a new home.
Jones, who entered the transfer portal just before the end of the spring season after he was benched, has committed to play at Mississippi Delta Community College.

During the 2021 regular season at Jackson State, Jones threw for 1,016 yards, 11 passing touchdowns and five rushing scores and completed 55.2 percent of his passes.
Jones, who was rated the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback by 247Sports out of Henrico High School in Richmond, Virginia, originally committed to Mississippi State before flipping to Florida after Dan Mullen took the Gators job.

Jones left the program weeks after arriving in Gainesville shortly after he was reportedly accused of sexual assault. Criminal charges were not pursued stemming from the allegations. In April 2019, Jones transferred to Jackson State under then-head coach John Hendrick.
Jones was the second JSU quarterback to leave the program following the spring season. Redshirt freshman Quincy Casey announced in April that he had entered the transfer portal.
