The coronavirus continues to impact the Alabama State basketball program after women’s head coach Freda Freeman-Jackson tested positive for the virus, the school announced Friday.
Freeman-Jackson, Alabama State said in a news release, will miss the Hornets’ next two games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State.
“In accordance with the protocols set forth by the university and the conference, Jackson has tested regularly with negative results; however, on Friday morning she received a positive test result and will follow the University’s isolation protocols,” the statement said.
Assistant coach Clayton Harris will replace Freeman-Jackson for contests Saturday and Monday.
Earlier this week, the school revealed that men’s basketball coach Mo Williams tested positive for COVID-19, which forced him to miss the home opener versus Jackson State on Monday.
