Less than a week after being hired Jackson State football Deion Sanders has zeroed on several high-profile recruits.
On Thursday, the first-year head coach literally stayed in-house by offering his son, Shedeur Sanders, a scholarship.
Shedeur Sanders is one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the 2021 recruiting class. Sanders, according to 247 Sports, is the No. 35 ranked player in Texas.
Sanders, who currently is the starting quarterback at Trinity Christian High School where his father is the team’s offensive coordinator, had previously committed to Florida Atlantic.
Sanders referenced the offer in a tweet posted Thursday afternoon.
“Very blessed to receive an offer from Jackson State University,” he wrote.

Sanders’ son is the latest prospect to be offered by JSU this week.
On Monday, hours after this introductory press conference, Deion Sanders offered five-star recruit Maason Smith from Houma, La. The 6-5, 315-pound defensive tackle had already received offers from several power five schools, including Alabama.
He also offered junior college cornerback De’Jahn Warren, a Georgia commit and is the No. 1 ranked player at his position. He continued exploring the junior college ranks by offering Nijel Mcgriff, Navonteque Strong, Jammie White, Lemarcus Faulkner, Rasheed Lyles and Hydee Barlow. the new regime landed its first transfer when Mississippi State freshman Javorrius Selmon announced he was headed to Jackson State.
