Year in and year out the MEAC has been the premiere conference in all of Black College Football, as evidenced by the league winning two of the last three Black College National Championships. The success of the league, despite Hampton leaving to the Big South this past offseason, has been forged by its crop of quality head coaches.
The 2018 season will be no different with a deep collection of teams making each game a test of survival. And that reality comes with constant pressure. Pressure to win and win now. That means several coaches — even at the top tier — will be under the microscope to perform.
The MEAC head football coaches are rated (in no particular order) based on job security heading into the 2018 season:
