Bethune-Cookman 58, Norfolk State 51

NORFOLK, Va. — Bethune-Cookman used a balanced offensive attack to hand Norfolk State its first MEAC loss of the season on Saturday, defeating the Spartans 58-51 in Echols Hall.

North Carolina A&T State 67, North Carolina Central 54

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Alexus Lessears (13 points, 16 rebounds) helped North Carolina A&T State defeat rival North Carolina Central 67-54 on Saturday to keep the Aggies unbeaten in conference play.

Hampton 66, Florida A&M 65

HAMPTON, Va. — Jephany Brown hit a free throw with seven seconds left on Saturday as Hampton defeated Florida A&M 66-65 in the HU Convocation Center.

Maryland Eastern Shore 58, Howard 52

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Bairesha Gill-Miles led the way with 13 points and 10 rebounds as Maryland Eastern Shore defeated Howard 58-52 on Saturday in the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.

Coppin State 56, South Carolina State 39

BALTIMORE, Md. — Coppin State’s women’s basketball team improved to over .500 in the MEAC with a 56-39 win over visiting South Carolina State on Saturday afternoon at the PEC Arena.

Delaware State 93, Savannah State 79

DOVER, Del. — Delaware State won its second game in a row on Saturday, defeating Savannah State 93-79 in Memorial Hall behind 25 points and 12 rebounds from NaJai Pollard.

Men’s Results

Coppin State 73, South Carolina State 65

BALTIMORE, Md. – Behind a 28-point performance by Lamar Morgan, Coppin State’s men’s basketball team won its second-straight game with a 73-65 victory over MEAC rival South Carolina State on Saturday afternoon at PEC Arena.  The Eagles improve to 3-19 on the year and 3-4 in the MEAC while the Bulldogs fall to 7-15 with an identical 3-4 mark in conference play.

Savannah State 106, Delaware State 86

DOVER, Del. – Austin Dasent nailed seven from long range to total 21 points as Savannah State dominated the second half to thump Delaware State 106-86 on Saturday.

Howard 85, Maryland Eastern Shore 75

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – RJ Cole scored 28 points, Charles Williams scored 19 and Howard outscored Maryland-Eastern Shore 20-10 down the stretch for an 85-75 win on Saturday.

North Carolina A&T State 70, N.C. Central 64

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Denzel Keyes scored 15 of his 20 points in the final 13 minutes to help North Carolina A&T rally from a 17-point deficit and knock off North Carolina Central 70-64 on Saturday.

Florida A&M 75, Hampton 71

HAMPTON, Va. – The Florida A&M Men’s Basketball team took command in the second half Saturday, then outlasted the homestanding Hampton Pirates, 75-71 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest at the HU Convocation Center.

Norfolk State 71, Bethune-Cookman 70

NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore Steven Whitley hit a shot off the glass at the buzzer to give the Norfolk State men’s basketball team a 71-70 win over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday evening at Joseph Echols Hall.
