HOUSTON – Texas Southern Athletics has announced that season ticket sales for the upcoming football season have increased by over 250 % since the “All In” season ticket campaign started last fall.
“We’re constantly looking at different measures that we can implement to increase our attendance at home athletics events,” said TSU Assistant Athletic Director for Operations Kevin Granger. “We want to encourage all of our alumni to join in supporting our programs through the purchasing of season tickets via the “All In” campaign. As a former student-athlete I can personally attest to the importance of fan and alumni support in the stands during competition. At this point last season Texas Southern had sold 150 season tickets. This year season tickets sales have eclipsed the 500 mark and are projected to top over 1,000 season tickets sold by the time the Tigers kickoff the season in the upcoming weeks.
“When we began this campaign our initial goal was to increase our season ticket base to 5,000 season ticket holders,” said Granger. “While we may be short of that goal at the moment we’ve begun to see momentum in the purchasing of season tickets among the various TSU Alumni Chapters across the country and we anticipate season ticket sales to steadily increase as we continue to get our message out to alumni, fans, and supporters.”
Individuals looking to purchase season tickets have several options including online and by mail. Season tickets will remain on sale through Thursday, Sept. 8th.
“At Texas Southern University we have one of the most passionate fan bases in all of NCAA Division I HBCU Athletics,” said Granger. “We want to continue to display that passion and support by attending home athletics events and cheering for our student-athletes every opportunity that we get.”
