Grambling State is about to lose its leading scorer from a year ago.
According to reports, guard Antwan Scott is planning to transfer prior to the start of his senior season.
“I’m just trying to go somewhere my senior year with a better opportunity to win and surround myself with people around me that can help be success and get to the next level, not saying Grambling State wouldn’t have done that, but I felt it was a good opportunity to play at a bigger stage,” Scott told The News-Star about his decision.
Reports indicate that Scott could not be convinced to stay with the program even after meeting with recently hired head coach Shawn Walker.
Scott averaged 15.7 points per game, 4.5 boards and 3.7 assists while shooting 39.2% from three during the 2013-14 season, which was tops on the team.
Scott transferred to Grambling from Idaho.
