In a little more than a week, several Southern representatives will meet with the NCAA in hopes of convincing the governing body to lift a postseason ban levied against the school.
School officials are expected to appear before the NCAA Committee on Academic Performance in Indianapolis on June 25 for a hearing to discuss data concerns that has plagued the school and how the university will attempt to provide accurate data in the future.
Southern athletics was ruled ineligible for postseason play since December because of poor reporting of Academic Progress Rates. In April, the NCAA met with the school to evaluate the overhaul Southern underwent in response to the sanctions.
The NCAA said a resolution of the case is not expected the same day as the hearing. Southern Athletic Director William Broussard said the committee will deliberate over more than 400 pages of documentation, and he expects a ruling the first week of July.
