No. 3 Southern Jaguars (20-8, 16-2) did not participate in a national post season tournament due to NCAA governing restriction after winning the regular season SWAC championship and losing the SWAC Tournament quarterfinals at the Toyota Center in Houston, the Jaguars season is complete.

No. 5 Coppin State Eagles (17-14, 12-4) were not selected to participate in a national post season tournament, after finishing third in the MEAC regular season and losing in the MEAC Tournament finals at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA, the Eagles season is complete.

No. 6 Prairie View A & M Panthers (14-18, 11-7) lost to the UCONN Huskies 87-44 in their fourth straight appearance in NCAA Division I Tournament, after finishing fourth in the SWAC regular season and winning sixth SWAC Tournament championship in eight years by three different coaches, Cynthia Cooper, Toyelle Wilson, and Dawn Brown at the Toyota Center in Houston, the Panthers season is complete.
