Two former HBCU men’s basketball players who the NCAA wanted to speak with regarding a federal gambling investigation have been ruled ineligible to play.
Former North Carolina A&T athletes Landon Glasper and Ryan Forrest refused to cooperate with the NCAA’s investigation, a violation of the organization’s rules, making them ineligible for further participation in NCAA basketball.
According to a report by the NCAA, Glasper, Forrest, and three other North Carolina A&T athletes were initially interviewed by the NCAA following a January 2025 investigation regarding “suspicious betting activity” on Aggie men’s basketball games.
“For several months after the phones were imaged, the student-athletes did not respond to requests to review their data from the phone imaging service, which led to delays in the investigation,” the report states “However, once enforcement staff were able to review the data, text messages on Forrest’s phone revealed photos of Forrest holding large amounts of cash around the time of the games under suspicion, as well as several text messages with screenshots of betting slips for NFL and NBA games.”
Glasper is currently playing basketball in Serbia and Forrest has not played for another insitution. Neither player is currently enrolled at North Carolina A&T.
