Clark Atlanta, Teddy Keaton part ways after 2 seasons

In a shocking turn of events, the Clark Atlanta Panthers will be searching for a new head football coach, following an announcement of the departure of current head coach Teddy Keaton after just two seasons.

Clark Atlanta finished the 2025 season with a 3-7 overall record, including a 2-6 conference record.

Keaton was hired by Clark Atlanta in February 2024 after a five-season stint with the recently rejuvenated Allen Yellow Jackets’ football program.

In his first season as head coach of the Panthers, he turned the team around from an 0-10 record the year before to a 7-3 record, clinching a berth in the SIAC championship game.

The year before taking over at Clark Atlanta, Keaton led Allen to a 7-3 overall record, marking the team’s first winning season as a Division II program (last finished above .500 in their final season before disbanding football in 2005).

Both seasons were bookmarked by a dynamic offense, led by quarterback David Wright who was named SIAC Offensive Player of the Year each year.

The Panthers’ head coach also had a five-year stint at Stillman in the team’s final five seasons before terminating football, tallying a 27-26 overall record, leading the team to a share of the SIAC West division title in his first year in 2011.

This now makes four open head coaching jobs in the SIAC, joining Albany State, Morehouse, and Savannah State.
