The road to the 2025 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football championship now runs through Albany.
Albany State secured the league’s top seed and hosting rights with a 21–18 victory over Savannah State on Saturday at the ASU Coliseum.
With the win, the Golden Rams will host the SIAC Championship Game on November 15 at Albany State University Coliseum.
“We have had a very competitive football season, full of excitement, that is coming down to the wire,” SIAC Commissioner Dr. Anthony Holloman said. “Albany State has put together a spectacular season to earn the honor of competing for the conference title at home.
As a powerhouse program in our league, we value the university and its surrounding community. For that reason, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Albany State and the Albany Mission Rescue to make a positive impact, beyond the playing surface, on one of the many communities that make the SIAC one of the leading forces in Division II athletics.”
