One coach from Eddie George’s Tennessee State staff thought to be in line to replace him, is moving on.
Brandon Fisher, the son of longtime Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, will be joining George’s Bowling Green staff as defensive coordinator, the same position he held at TSU, according to a report by Zach McKinnell of The Bluebloods.

Fisher played his collegiate football at Montana as a linebacker before going into coaching alongside his father with the Titans and then-St. Louis Rams. After stops at Southern Utah and Auburn, Fisher joined George’s initial TSU coaching staff in 2021, building a defense that eventually ranked among FCS’ best. The Tigers led the Big South-OVC in passing defense, surrendering just 189.5 yards passing per game and compiling an efficiency rating of 114.9.
One of Fisher’s prized pupils was edge rusher Terrell Allen, who won the Buck Buchanan Award and the Big South-OVC Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023 before transferring to Tulane.
George was hired as Bowling Green’s head coach on March 9 after four seasons at Tennessee State, where he went 24-22 and led Big Blue to their first Big South-OVC title since 1999 and first FCS playoff appearance since 2013.
