In January, George was one of 17 head coach candidates interviewed by the Chicago Bears before the team ultimately hired Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
In 2021, George signed a five-year contract with TSU for an annual salary of $400,000, which included up to $100,000 per year in incentives.
