Coming off a one-win 2024 season, Mississippi Valley State will embark on what the program hopes is a more successful tenure under first-year coach Terrell Buckley.

How the Delta Devils navigate the 2025 season will go a long way in determining its early direction.

On Thursday, Mississippi Valley State released its fall football schedule that includes matchups against both SWAC Championship Game qualifiers.

MVSU will face Southern University on August 30, setting the stage for a season filled with powerhouse matchups.

The team will then travel to Louisiana and Texas to take on Southeast Louisiana University (Sept. 6) and Tarleton State University (Sept. 13) before returning home for an open week on September 20. A key conference showdown follows on September 27 against Texas Southern University.

October will bring fierce battles, with the Delta Devils clashing against Florida A&M (Oct. 4) and Alabama A&M (Oct. 11).

The highly anticipated Homecoming game on October 18 will feature a showdown against Lincoln University of California. The month concludes with a faceoff against Alcorn State University (Oct. 25) in Lorman, Mississippi.

As November rolls in, the competition heats up. MVSU will hit the road to face Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL (Nov. 1), followed by a home game against Jackson State University (Nov. 8).

One of the season’s marquee events, the Port City Classic in Mobile, AL (Nov. 15), will see the Delta Devils battle Alabama State University in a high-stakes matchup where they will be designated as the home team.

The season will conclude with a road trip to Prairie View A&M University (Nov. 22) in Texas.
