Former Fort Valley State quarterback Kelvin Durham announced that he is transferring to Johnson C. Smith.
Playing his first season at Fort Valley State in 2022, Durham made an immediate impact, winning the conference Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year awards. He was also named to the All-SIAC First Team.
He became the Wildcats’ career passing leader this year after a 295-passing-yard performance against Savannah State (record currently sits at 5,922 career passing yards).
In addition, Durham completed 59% of his total passes, throwing for 56 touchdowns and scoring six rushing touchdowns.

The former All-SIAC quarterback now transitions to a Johnson C. Smith team that finished with an 8-2 overall record.
This included the team’s best start in school history, which included winning their first eight games of the year.
However, the Golden Bulls fell short of a CIAA championship berth after losing their final two games to Fayetteville State and Livingstone.
Johnson C. Smith quarterback Darius Ocean was the CIAA’s leading passer this year, recording 2,301 passing yards and scoring 16 touchdowns.
Ocean was aided by the top receiver in the CIAA, Brevin Caldwell, who caught 85 receptions for 1,090 yards and eight touchdowns.
