Former Jackson State athlete Travis Hunter took home college football’s most coveted individual award this past weekend, and the Tigers hope a family member will follow in his footsteps and join the HBCU ranks.
Trayvis Hunter, a sophomore receiver from Effingham County High School in Georgia, announced yesterday he received an offer from Jackson State on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Travis Hunter was named Southwestern Athletic Conference freshman of the year in 2022, helping Jackson State to their second straight SWAC title under Deion Sanders before moving with Sanders to Colorado. Hunter won the Heisman with over 1000 yards and receiving on offense and four interceptions on defense.
