Coming to Johnson C. Smith after walking on at UNC-Charlotte, Baker played a major role in the team’s best season in nearly 50 years.
The Golden Bulls finished with an 8-2 overall record and led the CIAA in scoring defense, allowing just 13.9 points per game.
Baker produced 36 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, three interceptions (returning one for a touchdown), and three pass breakups. He was also a factor on special teams, returning nine punts for 80 yards.
On his way to being named to the All-CIAA First Team, his three interceptions tied for the second-most in the conference.
Baker has one year of eligibility remaining.
