Texas College head coach Jarrail Jackson has been named the NAIA Region 5 Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
Jackson led the Steers to a 7-3 overall record, including a 5-3 record against Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) competition.
This marks the first time the team has finished a season with a winning record since 2005 and just the third time since the football program was restored in 2003.

In the previous eight seasons, Texas College amassed an overall record of 7-70, including two years finishing with a winless record.
This is their first time Texas College has finished a season with at least two wins since 2015.
After serving as an assistant coach for 18 years, Jackson was hired by Texas College in his first head coaching position in 2022.
In addition to winning the Region 5 Coach of the Year award, the Steers’ head coach is also a finalist for the NAIA National Coach of the Year award.
