Angela Suggs is one of many babies born and raised on the Highest of Seven Hills, attending Florida A&M’s grammar school, high school and college programs.

She will be returning to campus as the new athletic director, according to reports by HBCU Gameday and Rattler Nation Blog. Suggs previously worked in the FAMU athletic department as the associate athletic director for external affairs and senior women’s administrator. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M and a master’s degree from St. Thomas University.

Suggs returns to Tallahassee after serving as president and CEO of the Florida Sports Foundation. During her seven-year tenure, the foundation has secured two Super Bowls (2020 and 2021) and a current three-year run of Pro Bowl games (2023, 2024, and 2025).

Suggs, pending board of trustee approval, will replace Tiffani-Dawn Sykes, who was among several senior-level administrators in August FAMU interim president Timothy Beard asked to resign or be fired weeks.
