The first-ever meeting between Grambling State and Texas A&M Commerce on the football field was a memorable one.

In a game that featured several lead changes and a game-tying touchdown in the final seconds of regulation, the outcome was somehow decided by a defensive play.

With Grambling leading Texas A&M Commerce 35-28 in overtime following a TD run by Tre Bradford, his second score of the game, the Tigers pulled out the gutsy win on the strength of an interception by defensive back Patrick Marshall.

Here is how that play unfolded.

The Tigers won its second consecutive game under first-year head coach Mickey Joseph to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Quarterback Myles Crawley threw for 125 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Bradford, who scored the game-tying TD with just 12 seconds in regulation to knot the score at 21-all, rushed for 73 yards on the night.

Grambling will carry a considerable amount of momentum into next Saturday’s showdown against rival Jackson State.
