Grambling State quarterback Myles Crawley threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. The defense recorded two interceptions, recovered a fumble, and tallied two sacks in what was a comfortable 37-20 win over Tuskegee on Saturday night.
But despite the performance, Tigers head coach Mickey Joseph wasn’t completely happy with how his team finished the game.
It was an action packed first half for the G-Men!

And for good reason. After blitzing Tuskegee in the first half, Grambling allowed 195 yards and was outscored 17-0 over the final two periods. As a team, the Tigers committed 16 penalties for 166 yards, an area where they were among the FCS leaders a year ago.
The sloppiness and lack of execution didn’t allow Joseph to fully celebrate his first win as Grambling coach. He wanted to send a message to his team first.
“I thought they played good for maybe 20 minutes out of the 60. I thought we were clean for 20 minutes. The other 40, we were bad,” Joseph told the Ruston Daily Leader after the game. “We had 16 penalties for 166 (yards). That’s terrible. We can’t revert back to foolishness, and that’s what we reverted back to. I gotta do a better job as head coach, and I will. My assistants gotta do a better job, and we’ll clean that up.”
