Hue Jackson will be coaching football in 2024, just not at an HBCU.
Jackson, who was fired from Grambling after two seasons and was close to being hired as Morehouse’s new coach, will join Georgia State’s coaching staff, according to 247Sports.
Jackson finished his two-year tenure at Grambling with an 8-14 record, had his contract terminated after a last-second loss to Southern in the Bayou Classic.

Jackson then interviewed for the then-vacant Morehouse job but was met with resistance from MC alumni, notably journalist Carron J. Phillips, who explained his position on the HBCU Sports podcast. Morehouse eventually hired former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Terence Mathis.
Jackson previously was a head coach in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns, posting an 11-44 record in four seasons.
