After a year in which he was signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad, former Florida A&M wide receiver Xavier Smith signed a contract extension with the team.
In his four seasons at Florida A&M, Smith was named to three All-Conference teams, including two First Teams (MEAC in 2019 and SWAC in 2022).
In 2019, he was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-American and Hero Sports sophomore All-American teams.

The Rattlers’ receiver participated in the HBCU Legacy Bowl to win the game’s MVP after recording six receptions for 78 yards and scoring the game’s only touchdown.
After going undrafted, Smith signed an undrafted free-agent deal with the Los Angeles Rams. He played in two of the team’s preseason games, notably catching a pass for 25 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders.
He missed out on making the final 53-man roster, though he would sign with the team’s practice squad, making him one of five first-year pro players to do so.
