After naming a new women’s basketball coach on Friday, Maryland-Eastern Shore could also be searching for a new men’s basketball coach.
According to a report by Hoop Dirt, UMES is expected to move on from Jason Crafton and begin the search for his replacement soon.
Crafton is 43-76 in four years as the Fighting Hawks’ head coach, with his best season coming in 2022-23. That season, UMES finished 18-13 and advanced to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion Howard 74-55.
Crafton previously served as head coach at Division II Nyack College from 2012-2018. He was also an assistant coach with the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA’s G-League for two seasons before being hired at UMES.
