North Carolina Central head basketball coach LeVelle Moton recently announced the debut of his new show, the Locker Room.
The first episode aired last Sunday on Aspire TV and featured special guests actor Jason Weaver and rapper Rapsody.
Each episode will feature conversations with Moton, celebrities, and public figures. Asked about what prompted the creation of the program, Moton shared some insight on how the show came to be.
“It got started a couple of years ago; we had a documentary on ESPN, with me, Chris Paul, and Stephen A. Smith, that they executive produced called “Why Not Us?,” he said.
“It showed well and we were the first edition of the show. We had so many people that said, ‘We love everything about the show,’ and Chris put me on a call with the head of Disney, and they said you have the ability to carry an eight-episode show,” said Moton. “I told them, If I do it, I’ve gotta be me, this aIn’t “Love and Hip-Hop.” I’m not gonna be throwing water on people; it’s got to be authentically me.”
Moton said hosting The Locker Room will not interfere with his duties as NC Central head coach as the show was filmed prior to the start of the season.
The next episode of The Locker Room will air on Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m.
