The University of Louisiana System (ULS) Board of Supervisors has approved the contract for Mickey Joseph, the new head football coach at Grambling State.
Joseph, who took the helm of the GSU football program in December, will receive an annual salary of $325,000 under the terms of his contract.
Additionally, the contract includes performance-based incentives for achievements such as winning an HBCU National Championship, the Celebration Bowl, SWAC Coach of the Year, the SWAC Championship, and the Bayou Classic.
“We are beyond excited that the ULS Board of Supervisors approved Coach Joseph’s contract,” said Dr. Travyvean Scott, Vice President and Director for Intercollegiate Athletics. “Coach Joseph has been diligently working and building our football program back to where it needs to be. We are very eager to support him as he seeks to #RestoreOrder with our football program.”
Joseph expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to continue developing the program and working with the student-athletes. “Our goal is to restore order, reignite excitement in the Grambling State fan base, and produce a winning product,” he said.
