After testing the transfer portal waters, Rico Powers has opted to return to Jackson State.
Powers announced on Dec. 26 that he was entering the portal in an X post. The wide receiver, however, had a change of heart, announcing that we would be staying at Jackson State for the 2024 season.
Monday, he announced his decision to return to the Tigers in a post that reads, “I was always taught to finish what I started.”
Last season, the South Carolina transfer was the Tigers’ second-leading receiver, appearing in seven contests and hauling in 25 receptions for 385 yards and two touchdowns. His best performance of the season was a four-reception, 119-yard outing, which included a 66-yard touchdown against Florida A&M.
